I'm sure none of you really need to know about my 'problems' but I'm looking for somewhere to VENT and this seemed like the best place to do it.
I'm just feeling a bit down since a long period of illness and now I'm finally fighting fit I still can't go to the gym because of this stupid wrist injury.
Doing some measurements today I found I've only gained a cm on my biceps in a YEAR. This seems ridiculous since other parts of my body have obviously grown and I've put on weight. But this is an absolute kick in the nuts since they are my lagging part and I pay extra attention to try and get them to keep up. It feels as though I've put in a hell of a lot of hard work and not getting anything back!!
In fact, 1cm isn't even necessarily a gain that could be cold/warm muscle difference or after gym pump/no pump.
It's just so frustrating.

Brother,
this is the place to come. Everyone genuinly cares and any progress is a positive. Look at it in that light. You gained, that is much better than the alternative. Keep it up and focus. You will get there. Swap things up, make it fun.

Be patient, bro.
I'm just now, a year on, getting my size and strength back from having my distal bicep tendon repaired. Do NOT push that wrist. A second injury could put you out for years. talk to a physio-therapist , if you have not already, and find out what you can do and keep going to the gym.
Recovery will come in time.
If you need to talk more, feel free to pm me.
Brock

Keeping Brocks advice in mind about a re-injury. Other than that, this is prime time to learn how to periodize your training, and cycle reps, weights, lifting tempos and volume.

Take care of the wrist first as Brock said, then follow YB's advice and mix things up in a controlled manner...
What is your current Bi & Tri workout?

Thanks for the positive words guys.
I'm making sure I rest my wrist because what is 4 weeks off the gym now could turn into a lot longer down the line.
To be honest, I've probably lost a lot of muscle since I havn't been in my "groove" for a while, due to illness and hangovers mainly (cut down on alchohol majorly recently but I'm 18 it's hard lol).
When I started P/RR/S I gained almost 10lbs in a week.
Let's just see what happens when I sort this wrist out and get back to the gym.

You can snap out of this brother!
When I started 3 years ago, I weighed 185 lbs, with a 44 inch waist. Keep in mind, I'm only 5'2" tall. Yes..I was "portly"!
Last Fall, during my off season, I weighed 182 lbs. The difference being I had a 32 inch waist. I could shop for pants in the little boys department! You can laugh here, but kids clothes are a LOT cheaper!
My weight was almost the same, but my body had metamorhasized (sp?). It could be the same with you bro. Just because your Bicep measures one thing, it doesn't mean you didn't change someplace else. Hell, it may be even something you can't see. Perhaps doing cardio made your heart healthier!?!
It's kind of like reading the bible, or anything as far as that matters. If you only read one line of something, it may not be the truth. You have to read what came before and after to get the big picture, and put everything else into context.
Same with our bodies. No difference. Perhaps your wrist injury means it's time for you to rest. Perhaps it means it's time to get on the treadmill. Perhaps it means it's time for you to expand in other horizons. Let the injury be a stepping stone. Let it be a building block for the rest of you.
We're here for ya man!

Hmm.. Wrist feeling a bit better today but is swollen more? I'm sure it feels like theres a bone out of place but whatever I'm sure the physio knows what he's doing.
I recon I can be back in the gym by next week... But taking it easy.
I think the problem is that no matter how much my head says I need to focus on EATING, I just give the gym 190% (so much that I cause injury) and don't prioritize food enough. It's wierd because in my head I know that I could be lifting all the weight I want but if my diet isn't tight it doesn't make a difference whether I was in the gym or doing ballet!!
I could throw out excuses like it's difficult at the moment because I'm saving every penny for driving lessons, car etc. but I do think that as soon as it is out the way I think things will change.
As soon as this wrist is better I'm going to try - scrap that, I WILL pay more attention to my diet... Shakes before and after workouts and before bed. Maybe just 2 on off days. We'll see.

My current workout is pretty much the 'stock' P/RR/S one but I havn't been at it long. I've probably only ever done a single full cycle (3 weeks).
Also, I'll be getting into rugby so that will be a nice bit of cardio and will give me more of a drive in the gym (possibly).

If it's a quality cm, it is a LOT for a lagging bodypart! Even more if you think about the 99% of the population not even improving year after year! This sport is about patience, keep going!

Let nature take its course. Things will get better. try to get into the spirit of the upcoming holidays and try not to dwell on the gym too much.
There are many other good things in life. You will be where you want to be before you know it if you are patient and positive. Good luck!

Well the All Blacks absolutely destroyed us (England), they look to be an incredibly strong side.
Also, apparently theres a few 'Zealanders at rugby so I have to do some sucking up haha.
No idea which position I'll be put in, I havn't played since school so I might not make the team for a few weeks but we'll see. I'm looking forward to it.
