Here is Fernand, my 63 years young friend and training partner! Fernand has almost always been involved in sports his entire life... but he discovered bodybuilding 3 years ago and competed for the first time last year! Since this last year pic, Fernand has gained at least 10lbs of pure muscle (25lbs heavier, but not as contest ready as in the pic) and he plans on competing again in 2007... but the problem is that in Montreal, there is not enough competitor to create a grand master (50 y/o or more) or super grand master (60 y/o or more) class! So he must compete against 40 y/o young bucks if he is interested in going on stage! So if you guys know some contests not to far from Montreal (Chicago, Boston, New York, etc) where Fernand would be able to face at least guys of more than 50 y/o i would be very happy to send him the info... Thanks!

Awesome, Intensity!
He might have to look further afield tho, to the sunbelt states for classes for 50 and up.
I know Derrell and Vince Graham are activly recuriting both me and Trainer Tom for local shows to start filling the Masters 50 up slots. It's only us boomers wha are willing to say F-you to convention and keep plugging away that will get more Masters levels classes included.
If you want, I'd love a chance to exchange idea and experiences with Fernand. Feel free to give him my email.

Great shape, Mo!! Please give him my best. And if I can do anything to advise him, have him contact me. He might be interested in the NYC qualifiers here: Metropolitans in April or Atlantic States in June. Do not have to be a U.S. citizen to compete in the qualifiers. And they have masters divisions for 35+, 45+ and 55+. He would be highly competitive in the 45 and 55 divisions! Check out www.bevfrancis.com and click on shows for more information. Also, New England show in Boston in May is a possibility. Know they have masters, but Tim would probably know the breakdown better than I.

He looks great Mo,and please thank him for the compliment on my physique if you will. The NPC New Englands in Boston only have an Over-40 division............the Rochester N.Y. contest has an over-50 class, as does the Mr.Buffalo in Buffalo NY,I beleive the Northest Tournament Of Champions in Manchester NH also now includes an Over-50 class. I know of others, but my mind is drawing a blank...........must be the age thing!! LOL I`ll post more as they come to mind, and good luck in the future to Ferdinand..........he definately will be a force in the Masters contests.!!

A true testament to what a life of health and fitness will provide. He looks better than some 20 year olds that I know. What a great inspiration.
Congrads to him.
