Well...not knowing where else to note this...HERE is where it landed! I sometimes wondered why some of the powerlifters in my gym wear mouth pieces. I learned the hard way Wednesday night. Was doing a Power R/PP/S workout...going heavy...grit my teeth together.....and.......CRUNCH! Broke a wisdom tooth AND a molar (side-by-side)! Let me start by saying.... I HATE DENTISTS! Now the widom tooth was so sharp, that it was cutting into the side of my cheek. So I visit the EVIL DENTIST in Thursday morning, who tells me, " Well, I can save the molar by placing a crown on that, but the wisdom tooth is disentegrated, and will have to come out! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!! So, I talk him into filing off the rough edges until after Thanksgiving ( I NEED TO EAT!) And on Decemebr 4, I go into for the Extraction and Crown! That should fu__ up my training for that week! Did I mention I HATE DENTISTS! Lesson learned: I will be buying a mouth guard for heavy lifting days! Sucks BIG TIME!

Thanks man!
When the EVIL DENTIST said extraction...my whole body kinda tensed up! Then he said, "Oh, Ican do it right now." I thought I was gonna stroke out! I had this flash of Thanskgiving Day, eating Turkey, and having the extraction start to bleed, the crown falling out, etc. I said, " HELL no! We'll wait until after the holiday!"
Oh well....another lesson learned in the name of the iron game!

I feel for you!!! I DESPISE the dentist too!! Well, actually, I really like my dentist but I DESPISE having any procedures done!!! I get all stressed out and I have my dentist give me "laughing gas," or else I would never have one tooth filled!!!!

i guess i'm one of the ones that don't greet the teeth on heavy lifts..
i squeeze my cheeks out though...and just focus on breathing out.
Maybe you can practice "yelling" ..that way..you don't greet your teeth.
plus..i think biting down too hard may give you headaches.

Ouch Frank and thats also for your bank account I'm sure dentists are out to cut everyone off at their nether regions LOL The extraction won't be so bad though, all 4 of my wisdom teeth were gone by 21..I just hate those big long needles......Argggh
