Destroyed my legs for the first time in too long and christ I think I put inches on each of my legs. OK maybe that's a bit of a exaggeration but seriously my legs are huge after just one workout... I'm just wondering, are all body parts linked somehow? Like because my upper body is pretty big compared to my legs, so when I stimulate my legs do they try and catch up? Even though I'm saying it, it sounds kinda ridiculous. I can't think of any reasoning or physical reasing why this would be but it seems like the link is there. Am I just crazy? Thoughts?

I don't know about that philosophy, however, a good lower body lift is going to increase overall growth hormone output and if you start the recovery process properly (supplements and feeding at the right times), you will decrease circulating levels of cortisol and increase anabolic hormones like IGF-1 and testosterone. By doing this, your upper body should get some benefits from these hormones and through teh recovery process. I know many guys that say if they don't squat heavy, they lose upper body size. Even some pro's say that. I think Dennis James said something like once and I believe Dave Palumbo is a big proponant of that.

A great upper body can be built with great lower body stimulation.

Like Kyle said, leg workouts stimulate alot more GH output than smaller muscle groups, especially if you are doing lots of squats and deads and power exercises. Everyone has a part of their body that grows faster than the others but I'm sure your legs will catch up if you train them just as hard as your upper body.

a big house needs a good foundation. I like that reasoning Sorry I neglected to mention I did know a little bit about extra GH output... Maybe that's what it is. I was doing both squats and deads. Hopefully it well help me maintain some size while my wrist is healing (almost better I recon!).
