Jimi would have celebrated his 65th birthday today if he was alive. The greatest guitar player that ever lived!!

I can't say I'm a huge fan of his music but he is definitely one of the greatest ever. And there are a good many songs the only he could do the RIGHT way. Even the great Bob Dylan had nothing but praises to say about Jimi's version of All Along The Watchtower.
The man had more foresight than most could ever hope to have. Truly a genius.

`Scuse me while I kiss the sky !!
That was the title of a biography written about Hendrix in 1978. I heard that the book will be brought back in print in 2008 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of publication.
It was one of the first best sellers about a musical artist at that time.

Jimi was certainly ahead of his time. Not too many that equal him in what he did, now or then. I remember watching him play at Woodstock, and he's playing some type of flamenco thing that he obviously just decided to do. Playing, and doing his thing, then he reaches over the top of the neck with his thumb (I can do that, no biggie really), but he reaches DOWN three frets and walks the notes up chromatically while playing something else on top of it. He could play anything. He played the Chitlin circuit with Little Richard, and the Isley Brothers. Sat in a room with Miles Davis, and learned how to play jazz alongside a King within minutes. Then he revolutionized the way music would forever be heard with his recordings, using overdubs and playing them backwards, using new effects like fuzzfaces or other stompboxes. He was a revolutionary for sure. Me>>> #arockon6ha# Jimi>>>>

Sal Sal, you know I'm gonna jump in here! Dylan, to this day, still plays All along The Watchtower in concert in Jimi Hendrix fashion! Jimi rocks. Not my favorite, but I do have his greatest hits and a Jimi Hendrix Blues album that I LOVE! He def rocks out on teh guitar!
