Hey guys: I attended the prejuging of the NPC Rocky Mtn. today and what a motivating experience that was. I had not been to a show in a year or so and decided to go check out what's up since I'm thinking of doing a comp next year. At first I was really kinda depresssed- so many huge people there in the audience and the guys onstage were in top shape. I felt really small and insigificant for a while, partially because I am smaller than some, and partly because I think I see myself smaller than I am. Anway- I soon got over the depression and thought "If those guys can do this so can I"- I just have to really continue with the progress trend that I have been on. After it was over I ate, came home and then took my wife along to the gym with me to lift. This never happens because we have a child to look after and so we never can go together. Well, today my daughter was at a friends so my wife went with me. she was really impressed- she had no idea how hard I push it in the gym and when I did flat bench dumbell presses with 100s here eyeballs about popped out ;D. Ok... my point in all this is that I am so pumped up about getting bigger I'm about ready to blow up. I've been able to up my weight by about 12lbs over the last month and I expect another 15 to 20. No stopping me now. Thanks for reading my rambling post- sorry guys just really excited here. Mike P.S. Best part of it to me is that the strongest class was the 40-45 Masters. I would assume the HW 40-45Masters took the overall- a tall and huge dude that looks like Bryan Padizeriz if you guys know who that is.

It's great to hear you so fired up Mike!!! Just keep pushing it ,big guy, and you'll make your mark. .....People shoulld never underestimate the "Masters"...I know from first hand experience that it is often the deepest group with the most quality physiques in alot of shows. Train Hard!!!

Keith has it right.
Watch out for us Masters! you never know what we are going to do next!
Going to competitions is one of the best motivators around. I'm always fired up after one, and Vince Graham along with Chris Aceto are believers in competeing at least once a year so you get feedback about where you are.
stay strong

Mike, it's quite common to see ourselves in a different way. Even more common among bodybuilders. I won't go into great detail about the psychological workings of it all but don't let yourself get down because you know what..? Some other guy at the competition probably took a look at you and went shiiit, I'm going to have to pump harder if I'm going to keep up with him.
Glad to hear you're really motivated. Don't let it slip!

Good pic and your avatar by the way- MEAN abs. Mike
