Yep at the advanced age of 37 I get mono! How, not too sure. It really sucks too. I had been feeling achy for sometime, especially in my legs. So I took a week off from the gym, and then developed a headache that I could not get rid of. Now I get migraines all the time. I usually take 800 mg of motrin and they are gone within the hour. Not this one! It was like a vice was squeezing my head, eventually my eyes hurt! 3 days without sleeping, the pain was so bad. my lower back hurt, and my sides hurt everytime I took a breath. My throat was inflamed and swallon. I have been off work since Monday. Boy it sucks. I actually had to go the ER room. well they took care of me there and thats when I had found out i had mono. Never had this before but I can tell you its no fun!!!!!!!! It downright sucks!!!!!!!!!!! The only upside is the plan of returning to the gym.

Really sorry, Steve. Praying for you, buddy. I'll try to call, but if you are not up to talking, that's understandable. Keep the faith and God bless.

Mono is NOT fun at all. It takes some time to recover from it! Take it easy and sleep when your body tells you to...if at all possible. Hopefully you will be feeling a little better for Christmas. Take care of yourself.

Spoke with Steve for a while last night. He was fairly upbeat considering the circumstances. He is doing a little bit better but this is a long recovery process. It is a virus that is resistant to antibiotic treatment, so the bacteria has to work its way out of his system. Right now, he is just on a pain killer.
He cannot work or train at the moment, but can catch up with things at home and be with his family. His long hours at work and lack of proper sleep probably lowered his resistance.
Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Steve, praying for as speedy a recovery as possible.
