This year it seemed as if every gift had to be sent back or exchanged due to it being broke or missing parts. What the heck is going on with the quality of products being sold anymore? I bought my son a Hyper Scan and it didnt work. My wife got a swing for the baby and it didnt swing, a clock radio my son got didnt work correctly and a T.V. stand we started to put together was missing parts. Man this was a very disapointing Christmas as far as the quality of the EXPENSIVE presents. I guess I just expect better.
Anyone els have this problem!

Know the feeling. As my kids get older the gifts get smaller but more expensive. I got my son a PSP, and as you all know, you need a memory card (not included). This thing is smaller then a dime, bought cost $24.99. Some are as bad as $99.99!
Everything is working so far, but is has been an expensive christmas!

Seems like everything is a bait and switch. You buy an XBOX think you are getting some thing with the power of a high end gaming machine for 500 bucks, but then learn the games run you 80 bucks, you still need to pay the monthy fee, and to get the great pic you saw in the store you have to spend another grand for a wide screen high def monitor.
In that spirit here is Brocks sure fire gifts list.
Books.
Clothes, and I mean a luxury item with a high end label. One Big designer lable will make you feel dressed up.
See what they like to eat and make up a food basket. Again, maybe hit Williams Sonoma or Dean and DeLucca and get some small gourmet items.
Movies. Look for ones they watch over and over and and buy them the DVD.
For kids from say 8 on, trains. I was a pretty spoiled little kid but the year I got my first Lionel set is THE Christmas I remember. I still have the set too, display the trains on racks in my study.
A bike. Wheels mean freedom for young or old. Give the gift of health and clean air.
For your parents, get something they treasure repaired or restored. One year I got my late father's MASSIVE Fisher/ Kilpschorn Monaural audio system restored. Tube electronics and a single Klipsch corner horn speaker with garrard changer that plays 78's and Pilot FM tuner, then added a cd player and cassette recorder. I grew up listening to this and it's still my standard in Audio. Mom was thrilled and now her house is filled with Frank, Artie, Ella and Tony year round.
more for those who want to know.
