Hey Guys! I hope you all had a happy holidays and a great new year? Its taking me a little longer to get back on here as planned I got myself a job, but its catabolic as hell!! I now work doing house and business removals. All day is lifting furniture and carrying it up, or downstairs and loading or unloading the lorry. And we're usually so busy its hard to fit in time to eat I've dropped down to a very lean 144lbs, at least i got a lean base to work on again I'm now demanding time out to eat my chicken and rice and aint nobody telling me no ;D So i'm getting my diet nailed, hopefully i'll manage to get the quantity right, but i know its gonna be a tough target to get right. I'm back to using my resting below 60 secs between sets, using one day on, one off. Chest/shoulders/tris, legs and abs, back/biceps/forearms. I'm planning on seeing how things go with this training but has anybody got any tips on diet or training that mite help? I know big numbers of cals are needed but any supps or types of training that mite help with the physical nature of my job?

Lux,great to see you here bro..Happy New Year and congrats on the job.
I used to do some hard work and to get around this,I trained before work(4:30 AM or 5:00AM).
Very hard at first until you get used to it.
Get to bed early, take food breaks(2 breaks, plus lunch), and cut training volume down a bit.

Lux, it sounds very difficult and the work is hard. Not knowing what your diet is like normally or what your trying to accomplish, but what I would do the following. Look into upping the good fats in your diet. Like Omega 3's, fish oil, and olive oil. The extra calories will help as well as being healthy. I would also keep some protein bars floating around. I'm not a big fan of these things since they are barely better then a normal candy bar, but they do have higher protien contents as well as being easy to eat while your driving your "lorry" around. Also trying upping your calories in the evening a well. If your lean already and the work along with the gym is keeping lean, the extra calories will only help.

Definitely the bars or even have some protein powder in a container that you can just add water to. Nuts are another good one too...

I forgot about nuts. Almonds and Walnuts have recently gotten some very good press.

Now i'm more familiar with the guys i work with, taking breaks is no problem at all. They just ask me to eat my food outside or in the truck, because they can't handle the lovely smell of my spicy chicken When i first started i would be taking a bite of a sandwich then put it down and continue working, then take another bite next time i passed by my food My boss apreciates that if i can eat and train properly, he has a stronger employee! Which is definately good for business ;D I love the job as we get to meet new people every day or two, and get to travel around. And flirting with the female customers is absolutely neccessary So far i've had plenty of cash tips, but sadly no dates As i havnt been 100% with training during the latter half of last year and my diet has been crap, i feel my metabolism has slowed. And it feels like the old ectomorphic apetite has been kicking in and i'm battling to get back to eating well again. I'm probably only getting in around 2000 cals a day and maybe over 4-5 meals. Gone up a pound or two so will just go steady with the increases. But i havn't been doing much work recently so i'm sure the apetite and need for cals will rise when business picks up over the next couple of weeks. Think i got some recipes for home made protein bars somewhere. Feel free to post some of yours up if you've got any guys?

All right, my body Lux is in the place... good to hear from you! Congrats on the new job... if this job involving flirting can be called a job... As far as meals go, dont forget about shakes! Drinking is often more convenient than eating! When i'm in a meeting and cant eat solid food, I drink a shake (with milk, chocolate milk or water depending of the caloric needs). Nuts and protein bars are also great choices! Home made protein bars you asked? Just use: Protein powder Flour (100% whole grain) White eggs milk Splenda Depending of the quatity, the Protein/carbs ratio is going to be between 1/2 and 1/3 And use PAM instead of butter...

Hey Lux!! Great to hear from you again! Looooong time. Do you get to wear your goggles and spedo to work? I hear ya, with the trying to eat thing. I am Soooooo busy at night with clients every 45 minutes that it is stressing me out. I would just slam a shake, but they make me VERY hungry Well, congrats on the job!!

Thanks guys, getting this job has brought some light back into my life after that messy 2006. I hear ya with the shakes, they're good but i'm hungry about an hour later. Hey, thats a good thing tho because it gives me the desire for more food which is what i need right now! The shake i make now has about 600 cals. full fat milk whey/casein mix powder peanut butter green banana ground oats.
Spending loads of time in the kitchen lately as i step my game up with eating quality food, and trying to increase the quantity. Only worked about 12 hours over 3 days this week, and only 4 of those hours were being physical. No work at all next week so i've got plenty of time to train, eat and rest. Think i'll take full advantage and train smartly.
As for the speedos and goggles? Well whenever some people decide to move to the coast, theres always an opportunity #ainsane1rk#
