For the past 7 weeks I have been between 152-155 pounds and a 32" waist. This morning I woke up and the scale said 149lbs and a 31 1/4" waist. WHOOOO HOOOOO! I may hit my goal of 145lbs and 30" on Jan 30th after all.
The Northern Kentucky on March 24th is coming up quick. I am starting to get those posing trunks ready.

I like to be ready a month b4 that way I don't freak out as much when it gets crunch time. Rubi- man I will tell ya the truth this year I got rid of the ravioli. I am eating some oatmeal instead. I thought to change things up a bit this year and see what happens.

I gotta say that if you are as ripped as you are in your aviator on ravioli's, I cant imagine what you will be like with oats in their place.. You still keeping the carbs below 75grams?

Ill be very interested to see your contest pics when you go kick some ass! You're around my weight and it'd be good for me to see how impressive small guys can look. And who knows, you may even inspire me to compete one day #bflexsmiley1vs#

Your darn Skippy Timmy, i haven't felt this good in years. I actually look forward to each and every workout and cardio session.
Thats right Rubi i am still keeping the carbs to about 100 grams per day for 12-14 days straight then have a day with about 400-500 grams I don't want the body to go catabolic on me. I feel strong and my hardness is there I am not as vascular as when I do the "Carlman ravioli contest diet" though. I will give it some time before I start to freak out about that because I like the vascularity.
Lux man my goal was always when I was 185 and ripped I would hit the stage. Well as it would be I realized that it is not going to happen since I am almost 40 and it would be darn there impossible to get that big and ripped being natural so I try to do the best that I can with what I got. You can see most of my contest history and some pics on bodybuilding.com with this same handle ntrllftr.
Gerry My friend here is a national competitor that puts me through the mandatory poses and I do the same for him. But I do need some new material for posing music. Mind you that I am not a "flashy" poser I do more of a smooth transition type routine.

Amen! How far out do you start your prep? Actually I started dieting 3 months ago. Now the show is about 3 months away so a total of 6 months. Then I will stay lean all summer because there is a show in Sept. and Oct. that I plan on doing.

Good job Carl! Theres a couple of guys competing in the Northern Ky. from my gym. I might have to make the trip up there to cheer you on!
Roger and Sandy put on a great show! Probably the biggest in the state. I won the light heavy wt. class back in 1999.

Carl, glad you have the hands on help with mandatories! Just get them nailed. In some shows, only the top 5 in each class pose. So if you don't impress in the prejudge, the routine is moot.
As to music, if you are a smooth and more deliberate poser then look into slower rhythmic music. main thing is select music that will inspire you to do your best on stage.

Good job Carl! Small waist has always been my #1 criteria when it comes to identify my favorite bodybuiding physiques. What could be another great indication for you is Shoulders/Waist ratio! Good luck, keep us informed about your contest prep Carl! Mo

mrky03 Cool man I would need all the support I can get.
Gerry, Yes these two shows coming up the top five only do the posing and I plan on being one of those top five. I have used the same 2 songs for the past 3 years and just want to change it. It does help out tremendously having a friend put you through mandatories a couple times the week before a show.
Mo- funny you say that, I concentraited on getting my shoulders wider and my legs a little bigger this past year. So far as I am leaning out it looks like I did add some size to both. hopefully if i get my waist to 29 1/2" or so I should be right in there.
Thanks for all the support guys!
