Wasn't exactly sure where to put this, as sleep isn't nutrition nor training. So I went and put it here just for the heck of it. Gotta go back in time a little to refresh myself; but it won't be too long. I used to get home from work, and crash out almost immediately, for a good hour or so. I would wake up nice and refreshed, and hit the gym. Awhile back, I noticed that I wasn't sleeping nearly as long, nor feeling as refreshed when I woke up. I wondered why, and attributed it to a cycle that my body might be in. Nothing too big, but it didn't really pass over. Then, about 3 weeks ago, I decided to start listening to a jazz station via streaming internet while I drifted off to sleep. BAM!!! I wake up an hour and a half later! Then I realized that my change in napping patterns came when I started putting my media player on mute. I wanted silence so I made sure of falling asleep. Moral of the story- I sleep much better in the middle of the day when I have some music playing in the background. Maybe some of you out there that have sleeping troubles, try putting some music on in the background. Classical, jazz- something mellow, maybe even trance...to lull your body into a good slumber. Say Hi! to the Sandman for me!!!

That's interesting. When I was younger I used to nap (I still would but those darn kids keep expecting me to do stuff with them). My best sleep was with AC/DC blasting in my bedroom.
Those were the days.

I will occasionally put on some soft rock as a lay down for bed. I have also found burning one of those aroma therapy candles and turning out the lights works too. I used to try to nap in the afternoon when I could, but I always woke up cranky. But now I look forward to an afternoon nap when I can sneak one in, especially if I have company to snuggle with!

I dont know… after a nap, I sometime feel more tired than before it! But one thing is for sure… i wouldnt say no to more sleep, but I would do it by having a good old 9 hours straight every night!

I'm with Randy on this one sort of.. if I take a quick nap- say like 15 minutes I might feel refreshed. If I nap for longer than 30 minutes or so I feel groggy and grumpy once I'm back up. The best sleep I ever get happens this way: I go to bed at the normal time. I tend to wake up about 6 hours later. I get up and check out WOTW ;D for about 30 minutes to an hour (thus my early morning posts sometimes). I get sleepy and go back to bed for about 90 minutes to 2 hrs- that period of sleep is SOOOO good.

For me to nap during the day I need the room as dark as possible and I put the fan on to drown out any daytime noises. I'm not cranky after a sleep but I do tend to move in slow motion until I fully wake up. So If the kids need to be anywhere they know they cant wake me up and expect to be on the way, if they do......then I am cranky!!! #bsleepingsmiley4vu#

I'm crankier when I don't get my nap. The last two days, due to business reasons, I haven't gotten my nap. Today, I'm already tired and I've only been up 2 hours!!! I can't wait to get a nap later today. Once I take care of the necessary things, then it's off to meet Mr. Sandman again! I like my room dark as an Alaskan night, with music on in the background-unless I'm laying out for the night, then no music but darkness always!
