Well, it was bound to happen, I guess. :-\ Awhile back I was working in a store, and when I bought lunch and headed out to my car, I noticed my key was gone. Dammit!!! I searched high and low for that thing. Had them tear apart the bailer, looked in the freezer and it was nowhere to be found. I went back a few days later just to check on a whim at the lost and found, and sure enough they found my key!!! So, yesterday, I'm heading home from the gym and stop at KFC. No biggie, but as I headed inside my house I had too many things in my hands and threw my car key in the KFC bag like I sometimes do. Wake up this morning, and look at the garbage can that went out for service last night and it hit me. &*#*@!!!!!!! I forgot to get my car key out of the bag yesterday, and threw it away. My roommate took out the trash can last night and the garbage men were here early (had I been working I would have beaten the garbage men to it, but I'm on vacation!). So, knowing it's a shot in the dark, I called the garbage company and asked them if there was anything I could do. Nope. The key that just wanted to be lost. And it had my gym membership tag on it too. Hmmm, I'm guessing I may have to shell out another $250 for a key. Those things ain't cheap!!!! #athumbsdown9vd#

Unfortunately, at BMW, pretty much nothing is free. So, even though you pay $30k for a car, you only get a couple of keys. You lose one, you still gotta pay. The main reason for this, and the cost, is that it's a transponder key with the car alarm button built into it. So, it's not like they're cutting a piece of metal like the key of Tim's '28 Dodge. They have to cut the key, after they receive if from Germany, then program it along with my car....
