got hit with a nasty case of food poisoning. yesterday i could not eat a single thing. vomiting and nausea were the dominant symptoms
was awake all night and i am online now trying to find some kind of ways to treat this.
i think it could have been from the protein bar i ate friday night before bed. i woke up saturday morning, made my eggs and i couldnt even eat them. needless to say, they came out the same way they went in about 8 hours later

That may just be a stomach flu (gastro) Steve. Food poisoning doesn't last more than a few hours, or so I am led to believe.
If it's gastro, there's not much you can do. When you have an appetite again, you'll eat. In the meantime, do whatever you can to stay hydrated. Popsicles are a good way to get glucose into your system non-offensively, since they don't come in too fast.

I think Rich has it right.
Stay hydrated big time. Gatorade or kids popsicles with electrolytes is good to keep your electrolyte balance if you're losing too many fluids from vomiting, diarrhea, etc.
Otherwise...a day or two fast never hurt anyone. Cleanses the system. Then take your time coming back into the gym. Eat what you can tolerate. Get your strength back, physically and mentally.
You'll be good as new in no time!
If this goes on more than a couple of days...get to the doc just to be safe.

Man!! I pray that no one should go through what I went through when I got food poisoning. First I ended up getting fever followed by constant vomiting every other minute. Sad part is even if I took more then one sip of water I would immediately throw up let alone eat anything. Tried to take medication but invain. Finally I was rushed to a hospital where I was vaccinated. By midnight I started feeling better. I was so drained out that I was literally carried over in the hospital by my mom & wife. I didn;t even have the strength to walk. Man!! that was one big nightmare. Take care of yourself, Stevo.

I just got hit wit that stomach flu last night and it SUCKED . I"m feeling better but still pretty weak. Smashed some water, day and night quil and sat on my ass being a lazy bum. Lost 5 lbsl out of it ahahah now the most healthiest way to lose weight. Def need something with electrolytes in them and for some reason, ginger ale works wonders too, or is that when your hung over?

A couple years back when the electric went out all over the northeast U.S. some food in the Freezer didnt get thrown out and I didn't know. Well I ate some Sausage and I got sick as Hell from it. So I know what it is like. Since you got food down already I am sure it was just a flu symptom though. Get well and rest up b4 you go hit those weights again.

It was a crazy feeling. I woke up Saturday morning. Did the usual routine before going to the gym. Made some eggs in olive oil and a whole wheat pita. I could not even finish the eggs. I felt so nauseas. I laid down before the gym. Felt okie. Went to the gym started lifting and i knew something was off. i felt like throwing up. my workouts weren't that intense where i had to vomit so i knew i might be sick from food. so i go home after gym, wasnt even hungry. eating a PWO meal was not even in my plan. i had NO desire to eat. i just wanted to lay down. i laid down. ran to bathroom to throw up and did so. kept a bucket by the couch and pretty much filled it up. it was horrendous. i got the chills and heat flashes all thruout the day. even tho i was bundled up with 3 layers of blankets and clothes, i was STILL freezing. its amazing the minds control over the body. really is something to be reveled at. so my gf the nurse came to my aid. she got me some ginger ale, pepto bismal, and mylanta. soothed my stomach instantly. shes such a great gf

I've had food poisoning, and once it was chicken. That was the worst by far- up all night dry heaving it was so bad. The next time it was bad pizza, or something that developed overnight while I kept the pizza cold in the fridge (didn't do anything different than usual-other than get sick!). It sucked, but the best thing that I found was to just sip on water when you got thirsty (though you wanted to drink gallons- but it wouldn't stay down in my case) and just lay in bed if possible.
