This is a very important week in many religious calendars. Tonight marks the beginning of the Passover observance and Thursday begins the Triduum of Easter (Holy Thursday thru Easter Sunday).
Wishing everyone here peace and happiness during this time!

Thanks Gerry!
You are right that this is a very important time for many people.
Anyone wish to share a tradition or two?

Good thought, Frank!
It is an important time for me. There is the evening mass on Holy Thursday, the solemn prayer service on Good Friday and the Easter mass.
And then of course the great Sunday dinner! Whatever everyone does, appreciate the day and the family and friends around you.

I've decided to give up sweets, beer (cry) and pray more during this week. Also I am watching Jesus of Nazareth (great movie, albiet long), and The Passion Of The Christ (difficult for me to watch this one but I want to).

It's intersting to see so many diversifed traditions. Many of my wifes co-workers are Jewish, so they are all celebrating Passover. My wife bought her a pair of socks with little Stars of David on them!
We normally go to our old Parish that we grew up and went to grade school at. Have "Easter Baskets" blessed. Service is in English and Polish. We take our grandchildren becuase we feel it very imprtant to keep up family traditions, and if for some reason the traditions pass away...we start new ones!
We have a whole wall of pics in our home that have 6 generations of family pics there on the wall. So it's kind of cool for the grandchildren to look back and see what great great great, etc grandma looked like, and what she did, where she came from, etc.
But of course.....I'm their GREATEST grandpa! ;D
I had always just said I was working out, or lifting weights.....but it wasn't until my first contest...when I stepped off stage with a 5 foot trophy and my 5 year old grandson ran up to me and yelled, " MY PAPA'S A BODYBUILDER!" , did it actually set in....I guess I'm a bodybuilder now!
...from the mouths of babes!
HAPPY EASTER EVERBODY!

That's great, Grandpa Frank!! Was at the Masters last year and several of the over 35 figure contestants were in their late 40s to 50s and had kids shouting Grandma while they were on stage. Really great.
Hope everyone has a great weekend no matter what traditions are followed. Can't wait for my cousin's roast beef dinner!! ;D
