I have completely avoided beer, sweets, and excess carbs this past week and I feel leaner, stronger, and also feel like I have more energy. I guess I am not as fat as I thought I was, basically eating all those sweets and carbs probably made me retain water or something. Anyways I'm also happy that I have this self control. Not even after a workout do I go crazy on the carbs. Most I'll have is a glass of Gatorade, but no desserts or anything like that. I figure if I don't need it, I won't eat it! Our society eats WAYY too many carbs so I've cut them out alot. Of course I still eat enough because I want to gain strength/size.
For the first time in my life I am practicing clean eating, and I love it. I was so tempted yesterday with Easter cake in the fridge to the point I had my nose in the container to smell it, but i DID NOT EAT ANY.

Isn't it AMAZING how great the body feels when eating clean?/! I ate not too bad Easter Sunday and I still felt terrible yesterday, body wise. GREAT JOB!!!!!! After a while it will get easier and easier to avoid the not so good stuff.......but giving yourself a "break" every now and then is a good thing.......all things in moderation!!!!! Again, GOOD FOR YOU!!!! #smileygrouplaugh5js#

Thanks gals, I definately feel alot better both physically and mentally. I look and feel leaner, and I also can rest well knowing that I am fighting against my genes, since both sides of my family has a history of diabetes. Oh by the way what alcoholic drinks are okay to have that are low in cals? I heard jack with diet coke is good. Of course I will have to avoid beer but is a Mich Ultra that bad for you? Just wondering what I can drink that's not going to add cals/fat while at the same time enjoying myself.

Jay, if you want to drink alcohol, then don't try and find one that is low cal. That's like the folks that order the Triple-Whopper-With-Cheese-Combo with Mega-Size Fries, ...... and a Diet Coke.
If you decide that a drink is what you want, have a drink.
But if you're liking how you feel at this moment, then my bet is you don't want a drink. It's way more addictive being in shape, and feeling like you're on top of the world!

LOL well it always seems when one area of my life is doing well some other is lagging behind or just flat out bad. However I cannot dwell on what's going wrong, I have to be positive in that I am looking out for my health, well being, and I no longer have a desire for fatty foods.
Update.. I have loved pizza since I was a boy and I would eat it almost habitually in college. (oh those late nights of drinking until 3:30am then ordering 2 greasy pizzas), Anyways I had some last week and I felt so gross afterwards. Its saturated (literally) with fat and grease from the meat and cheese. I hadn't had pizza for weeks so now having it all at once again I felt repulsed. Almost like trying to smoke a cigarette after quitting only to cough bad and have it taste like sh*t.
I cannot believe how long I smoked cigarettes, drank so much booze, and how poorly I ate for so long. Good thing I am realizing this at age 27 and not 50 when the damage will have already been done.
So.. NO MORE BEER, and NO MORE PIZZA. Those are two extremely unhealthy things.
As far as sugar goes I do drink like 4-5 cups of coffee a day, and usually I put half a teaspoon of sugar in each cup. I will have to eventually drink the coffee black.. I DO NOT NEED the sugar nor the creme.
Thank you for the encouragment guys. You are all models of self control I hope to be someday.
