Just wanted to let everyone know, Hoopie placed 3rd in the Novice class and 4th in the open class. Strange thing is that the same 5 guys were in the novice and open classes. He should have had the same placing in both classes. Didn't quite understand that one.
He was much improved over last year and only needs to make minor adjustments for the contest he has in two weeks. Congratulations!

Talked to HOOPS on the phone earlier. Sounded a bit confused about the placings. I think he did great either way. Cant wait to see pics!!!!!
Funny. The same thing happened in the Figure Tall class in the show i was at tonight. In Novice, one girl took 2nd over two girls who obviously should have had that spot and the third spot. In open they all competed againt each other again and the outcome was the complete opposite. Go figure. No pun intended

Freaking huge. Im walking back to the stage when he hollered at me. Now i dont know about anyone else but when a fella his size hollers at ya, ya stop dead with fear..LOL... Eric thanks for all the advice at the show. I woke up this morning and like you said looked in the mirror, man was i full looking. I was a little pissed with the open ruling when it was the same 5 of us were in the novice. Wont lie i had a bad taste in my mouth about htis sport also. However Eric gave me some big props and confidence and told me they screwed up that it got me steam rolling for the show on the 28th. I was told by 2 of the judges that my body compisition may have changed in the 15 minutes between my 2 classes going on stage..GO FIGURE... Eric got me calmed down about the sport and refocused me on the 28th. Its done its passed and its time to move onward and upward. Eric see ya on the 28th in Weirton my friend. Thanks for the help! I will post pics and a more detailed event tomorrow...

Glad to hear that you are still going through with the next show. Like you I know exactly what you mean about the different placings from my past 2 shows that were one week apart. Keep it up bro! Just think how many people you see at the gym but how many of them actually go up on stage? Congrats!!

Picture an empty balloon. Blow it up enough and the skin gets really thin. Same with an under carbed physique. As for the screw up in the placings. Don't worry about it. Move on and come in better next show. Use what you learned from this one to make improvements for the next. Good luck and see you at the Ohio Valley.

Hoops, First off...you have EVERY reason to be proud of what you have accomplished in such a short time, bro. Congratulations on coming in better than before...I know you'll be even better in two more weeks. And me, Eric, Tim and just about anyone that's competed for some time will tell you...there will be placings you will NEVER quite understand. AGAIN...the main thing is you have improved your physique from the last time. Remember, I always say the only real competition is yourself. I'm proud of you, Steve...you're a real warrior!

Congrats Hoops!!! Some judges, I swear are smoking crack- one show I was at, they read the placings off backwards and everyone in the crowd was saying "WTF?!?!?! No way that guy placed ahead of the 3rd place guy!!!" They eventually got it right, but makes you wonder with constant mistakes and odd calls such as yours....
Good job, can't wait to see the pics!

#bowdown3ht# #bowdown3ht# #bowdown3ht# It`s kind of my fault as I told Hoops to go easy on the carbs. It`s kind of hard to advise someone through PM`s when you don`t know well enough how they might react to carb loading and you can`t see them. I figured better to be a bit flat and ripped than to spill over. Now that he knows,he can adjust things accordingly. Great job bro, very proud of you. I told you not to worry!!

You're right Boss, you said dont worry as i worried my ass off. It was AWESOME all the way. Now that i have a better idea of how my body reacts to carbs i can adjust accordingly. I couldn't have done it without your help Tim! THANK YOU! YOU'RE A GREAT COACH AND FRIEND!! An hope you will help me more in my future events...
