The sport will never progress as long as they reward a physique like Warrens over a guy like Dennis Wolfe!

Maybe its me.. I SOO Hate the mass freaks like Dennis James with the mass/gut and so beating out the guys like Tim said Dennis Wolfe. I'd personally rather look more like Wolfe than james. I really do hope they do a 2nd like weight div for pros. It's like boxing to me now. Don't get me wrong I love the mass guys and stuff but its like heavyweights and then everyone else. I'd love to watch guys like Mcquay, David Henry, Chamberlin, etc vs each other and show peeps the streamline waist and stuff with good proportions. Again just my 2 cents.

Mr. Wolf got HOSED!!! Warren wasn't even in the center for the comparisons, he didn't have abs (a la Boyer Coe), his conditioning was off, and separation lacked severely. Not to mention the torn lat, no back detail and soft lower back all in comparison to Wolf and James. I can see giving it to James (honestly Wolf was the best man though! ), and Silvio (not as much though since he placed 5th)....but Warren getting just throws me for a loop. Professional Screwjob courtesy of IFBB officials......official retards that is!!!

Ok.. well as usual I have to be in the minority on this- I'm glad Branch won and I think Dennis looked great- I do have to say though that Dennis Wolf looked great- freaky mass and small waist.... but it'll grow- just give it time.

There is no doubt in my mind that Dennis Wolf was the winner, hands down.Dennis is what majority of the people wanna see : big, cut, great lines, small waist and great proportions.....I was really disillusioned with the judging. Silvio too should have definitely placed higher. I guess the judges are smoking crack.

From Flexonline:
Branch Warren Wins In New York
He was perhaps the hottest bodybuilder on the professional circuit for most of 2005, and part of 2006. But oh, how things can change in a year. Fortunately for Branch Warren, they can change back again.
Ending a streak of disappointing finishes, Warren fought off a tough trio of competitors to win the New York Pro by the narrowest of margins over Dennis James at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center on Saturday night.
At the end of the night, just four points separated the two competitors. Even more surprising was the fact that Warren seemingly won the contest in the posedown, a feat that is rarely achieved. Heading into the posedown, Warren trailed James by a 30-27 margin. Dennis Wolf, rookie Desmond Miller and Silvio Samuel rounded out the top five.
James held the lead after the afternoon's prejudging by a 14-22 margin. In fact, after the prejudging, the gap in the battle for second between Warren and Wolf was closer than the battle for first. But the judges saw something at the evening finals that helped Warren pull away from both James and Wolf to claim the title in the Big Apple.
"I've competed against Branch four times now," a disappointed James said. "He beat me two times but at the Olympia I beat him by far. For me it was disappointing because I wanted to come in and win a show in America one time, and it just didn't happen."
The win was Warren's third as a pro. He won the Europa Super Show and the Charlotte Pro, then followed that up with a runner-up finish at the Arnold Clasic in 2006.
Things began to sour for Warren after that, however, as he missed the top 10 at last year's Olympia and finished 8th at his last contest, the Arnold Classic, in March. But those placings are now a distant memory after his big night in New York.
After being overlooked during his first attempt at competing in the States in 2006, Germany's Wolf is finally getting his due. Even though most had Wolf finishing at least one spot higher, the second-year pro's third-place finish was greeted with the loudest boos from the audience.
Wolf still needs to add thickness and width to his back and improve in order to hang with bodybuilding's elite, but the 28-year-old is well on his way to becoming a top-tier pro. Miller, making his professional debut, finished fourth and in the process qualified for the Olympia. Samuel continued his recent streak of top-five finishes in his fourth contest of the year.
Kai Greene, the biggest surprise at the contest, narrowly missed out on an Olympia qualification by finishing sixth. Green won the "Best Arms" award at the show.
2007 New York Pro Finals Placings:
1. Branch Warren 2. Dennis James 3. Dennis Wolf 4. Desmond Miller 5. Silvio Samuel 6. Kai Greene 7. Craig Richardson 8. Brian Chaimberlain 9. King Kamali 10. John Sherman 11. Francisco Bautista 12. John Hodgson 13. Frank Roberson 14 Leo Ingram 15. Milton Holloway 16. Lionel Brown 16. Gennaro Brigante 16. Steven Burke 16. Emro Karaduzovic

Warren looks like some mad scientist slapped him together in a lab from left over bodyparts. On a side note. What is happening to Kamali? This guy needs to call it quits. The same thing is happening to him that happened to Kovacs. He is like a bad dream that just keeps getting worse.

Miller did the best of rookies in their first show as the others didn't do so hot.

I'm huge Branch fan. I realize that in trying to come in heavier and more cut then ever before he caused his waist to look unflattering, however it was not distended. James has always sported a distended belly. Wolf has a look that will go a long way. I am glad that Branch won. He certainly has a better look then some of the mass monsters that were threatening the sport a few years ago (Fux, Palumbo,) and even Ruhl has trimmed his waist down.
But Wolf is the future.
Silvio looks awesome, by himself. I watched the Arnold prejedging and night show, and Silvio isn't that impressive when compared to others of his stature.

I thought for a littel while there I'd have to drop off this board... well OK I love all you guys here but my opinions seem to differ alot when it comest to rating mass monsters.

Have always liked Branch and he is an incredible athlete. But he seeemd as surprised as anyone that he won. Many times the best does not win. Branch knows that side as well (06 Arnold). But even though I did not feel this was his best, I am happy for him. As Randy l would say, 'nuff said!

No doubt, I prefer Wolf's physique, but from the pics in this thread, I cant say that it was a bad showing for Warren. It seems like it was a close call... I believe we've seen worse calls in the past. That being said... Wolf looked awesome! Exactly how a bodybuilder should look! Thanks for the pics Tim

I saw the prejudging pictures and Wolfe looked fantastic -I though the kid is going to win a show and now this!!! And I like Warrens look but not compared to Wolfes or even James in this contest. Sad - just plain sad. Sal

I have nothing against Branch...but on this day he was not the best one on stage. Wolfe looked terrific....yeah, he needs to get a little more back thickness, and another 7-12 pounds, but proportionally, he had it all over Branch and James. I thought the tear in Branch's upper right lat was bad enough ( look at the front double) that he should have been marked down. Also, I couldn't agree more with Eric's comments about Kamali...he just seems to keep sliding backwards.
