Does anyone workout in the morning?
I started my new job and i get home like at 8:00 each night and im kinda shot by that time. Theres a NYSC(New York Sports Club) across the street from my office (41st and 3rd) so im considering coming in early, getting my workout in and starting my day.
any ideas?

I want to give it a shot, but i work the 9-6 shift. so id have to wake up at 5:30, catch the 6:15 bus to the city, be uptown by 7:15-7:30, workout till 8:30, then shower and change and be at work at 9.
i think it would work

I agree with Vince on this one. When I work out in the morning, which is rare because I get to bed so late and my partners train in the evening, I feel better all day and actually think I get a bit more out of it. My favorite is to do both a cardio workout inthe morning followed by a weight workout of some type for one -possibly smaller - bodypart after, maybe just traps or calves. Possibly Biceps or just Triceps. Then catch a full chest or back workout in the evening.
But morning workouts have always seemed to be better for me as far back as I can remember.

Good luck! Unless you truly are not a morning person, this will work fine. Given your commute and needing to get to bed earlier, your day gets used up but that's part of the game.

Haha yes it is. But as it is now, i barely even see my gf lol. we have opposite schedules. shes a nurse, works 3-4 days a week 7am - 7:30pm, so when she works we never see each other.
so much to do, and so little time!!

I've ALWAYS gotten up very early. Habit from 14 + years in the Army.
So I normally get up and do my cardio around 3:30 ish AM. Eat, SSS, off to work by 6:00 am. THAN hit the weights between 4-5:00 pm.
IF I had MY perfect world, I FEEL my best WO time is around 10:00 am.
If I go to the gym on a Saturday, or Sunday...that's the BEST time for my body for some reason.
I think you gotta go with what works best for YOU.

I double, and even triple split at times ( like now during pre contest) and my first workout every day begins at 4:45-5:00. I absolutely love training in the AM...just seems to get the whole day started off on the right foot.

I'm with Keith. I love training in the morning because the majority of people there KNOW they got somewhere to go so no BS'in. No dumb hs or kids running around and you can do your super, tri, giant sets without any issues. Keith said it best, it also jump starts my day!

I've been working out in the mornings (6 am) for the last couple of years. Can't even see myself working out after work anymore!

I prefer to train at night. Usually at 7 pm. I am wide awake and ready to take out all the days frustrations on the weights. I also have 5 of the 6 meals of the day in me so I am totally fueled to go.
I just can't get motivated to train in the morning. I usually train around 11 am on the weekends only because the gym closes earlier.

I miss my early morning lifting!!! I do cardio 3 days a week at 5:15 and I have sooo much more energy. I lift at night due to my kids etc but if I could do cardio and lift in the morning that would be the way to go!!! I think your schedule sounds like it will work! Keep us updated on how it goes!!! ;D ;D ;D

Once i get comfortable with this new working environment (its a 24/7 job, not a 9-6) then i can schedule the gym. right now, im only getting in after work and the workouts have been so far so good, but i miss working out at 5:30 like at my old job

Its going to be hard for me to do it earlier than work. I may have to suffice for now to going at 7:30pm.
