This knows no age, as Kris is only 33 or 34. He is not out of the woods yet, and praying that he will be OK and be able to enjoy this Fathers Day with his family. Hope he can make a full recovery.
Thank God there was someone with him when he collapsed, or he probably would have passed on. Keeping my fingers crossed for him.

Frank, you are thinking of Mike Matarrazzo. He had a heart attack which required open heart surgery.
From what I understand of Kris' situation, he had a split aortivc valve which needed repair. This surgery is even more life threatening than Mike's.
Not to minimize Mike's struggle at all. Both are terrifying and scary.

Dim also suffered a major stroke as a result of the heart problem. He didn't have a heart attack. He isn't the first bodybuilder I have heard this happen to.

You're right on the name Gerry! I remember reading about him, and that he has a baby now too.
I wish both of them success in their recovery.
I'm not going to "go there", but I was reading some of the other boards about Kris, and it makes you wonder what the cause was.
Somone had posted that they were a training partner of Kris' and that he was about walking this morning. Hope it's true. I met him once, and he's a really nice guy.

Sounds like he had an aortic dissection at the root of the aorta, the same thing that killed John Ritter; not enough info to be sure. If so, it was likely congenital and not a result of his lifestyle. He was fortunate to have quick treatment. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Only wish him the best as well. Someone else mentioned a similarity to what John Ritter had as well. Thanks, Bob.
