I'm not a huge fan of the IFBB admin, they've tried a few tricks with me and I'm not happy-I won't be told what I can and can't do by an organisation that threatens to suspend athletes simply because they do not solely compete in that organisation. I have always been a fan of Lee but I don't think it would be in his best interests to go back to IFBB. He could make pots of money on his reputation alone. In some ways he remids me of shawn Ray,someone else I admire for his guts and honesty.

I think thats the problem The PDI does not get covered. Most of the mags are afraid of the IFBB powers to be and will not cover for fear of losing exclusive interviews. I thought the mag I subscribe to would at least cover it, I was wrong instead they were given the chance to sponser a big name show. When you mention PDI on their board they are quick to shoot it down. I smell conspiracy...lol

My initial reaction is to say "No." Do I think he should be reinstated? Nope. Guy's a liability. At least, in a nutshell, and at this hour for me (I'm an old man, 30 and I go to bed at 9pm!) I'll stick with that as my story! I think the interview was for drama...I don't think lee is willing to pay the price the federation wants him to pay to compete...I think the whole interview was a sham...and lee's laughing because of it... I didn't listen to the interview. I'm just going off past experiences, and how he conducts business on various boards. Guy likes to get a rise out of people, no matter how it's done or gone about. He pulls no punches in the manipulation game. From lying to Chick when he first got booted from the IFBB and wanted to get reinstated about 1.5 years ago (drama #1 if anyone remembers) and then going on GetBig and saying that he never wanted back in. Chick called him on it, and asked Lee "I guess all those PM's were lies and jokes then Lee? I was trying to get you back in all this time, for what?" and Lee replied, "Yeap, all a joke. Thanks for your time though, Chick." There is a line to be drawn and I think, even after suspending him and throwing him out of the IFBB or suspending him endless-lee, he shouldn't be allowed back in. He's popular and a fan favorite, but I think he's a bit too wacko now.

No disrespect Beckie...but shawn ray?...lol...joe weider himself would have been a better role model...IMO...shawn has no guts or honesty....and is an ifbb buttpuppet....hey...like I said..that's just my opinion....

See this is why I prefer OCB-sure they have politics like every other org,but they don't stop athletes competing for other orgs, that is what i'm most concerned about. Some officials are so hypocritical, they solicit athletes from other federations then don't enforce the 'rules' they are supposed to abide by. #arollseyes3zc# The athletes need proper representation, not the pseudo-athlete-ones that they have now

Ditto to George what says about Chick. After one of the Olympia's, we had breakfast at the (then) Alladin (now Planet Hollywood), when he was with Brenda Kelly. Brenda's a sweetheart (shared my Splenda with her!). But Bob sure did have a distorted vision of female bodybuilding. And you're right George, there is better representation out there. But the IFBB is normally playing it's usual games. That weekend there was supposed to be a meeting of the admin with Bob and a few of the athletes. Of course, when Bob showed up with the athletes, no IFBB personnel around. the meeting time and location, was changed, and they didn't t ell Bob or the others about the change. So of course, they had no inout into the meeting. Surprised? LOL!
On an aside, wasn't it Bob that got rushed off the stage once right after posing, placed in an ambulance, and had to be rehydrated at the hospital.....gee...wonder what caused that?

Can someone fill me in on the details? What did he do? According to the IFBB so called membership rules...which they enforce when they want to....No IFBB athlete is allowed to compete or participate in any manner to include: compete in, giving seminars in, or guest posing at any non sanctioned IFBB event. Last year, Lee competed in the Night of Champions which was a PDI event....the IFBB in their complete lack of wisdom...suspended Lee for his participation. The real underlying issue has really nothing to do with Lee...Yes he was outspoken...but his outspokeness was in my opinion as support for the athletes...and he spoke out at what he thought were injustices and/or unfair practices towards the athletes from the IFBB. In reality...the IFBB is only a sanctioning body. They collect dues from the members..."for the privledge" of competing on their stage...The don't pay the athletes anything....the athletes must win an event to get money....so they're not paid a salary...and therefore, the IFBB should not be able to control where, and how the athletes make money. I believe it is a perfect example of an anti-trust violation. That being said...if the IFBB paid the athletes...they (IFBB) may have some legal ground to stand on relative to controling where/how their athletes can compete..but as it stands now..I don't believe they legally have that authority... Anyone can write clauses in their agreement...that doesn't necessarily mean they are legal and binding....but...unless someone actually takes them to court....the rules stand un challanged...no matter how stupid and/or unreasonable they may be... Thank you. I see the IFBB is as petty as they ever were. Maybe Lee and Gary Strydom should start a federation of their own.
