As some of you may know, my wife did her first bodybuilding show yesterday, the INBA/ABA Ms. Millenium. She did Novice and Open.
First, there were actually other women competing in the bodybuilding! I think 5 total. This is better than some of the latest shows we've been to where there were only 1 or 2.
She did great, winning the novice and coming in 3rd in the Open (the lady who won came in 2nd in the Masters Natural Olympia last year).
I thought her posing routine was one of the top two all night. She's been taking a belly dancing class and incorporated that into the poses. We're all very proud of her and I think she now has the competition "bug."
Now, for me.
Last year I did this show and came in 2nd in everything.
This year there were 2 shows, Mr. Millenium and Mr. Reno. I did Master's Millenium and Open in both of the shows.
I won all of them. Mr. Millenium Masters, Mr. Millenium Open, and Mr. Reno Open! I was utterly floored as I thought the guys I went up against in the finals looked fantastic (and I had them ahead of me). My kids with my in-laws in the audience, my wife backstage with me, what an incredible experience. I'm pleased as there was a good amount of competitors and a lot of quality on stage. It was a great day for our family.
I'll post some pics when I can (although my father-in-laws camera died early so I may have to buy the pics from the show promoter). I may not be around this week as today we're off to Yosemite for a family camping trip for a week. I have my lap top and I think one of the hotels has Wi-Fi so I may be able to check in.
Have a great week everyone and thanks for all the support and encouragement!
