one of my longest term bodybuilding friends, Jim Chudd, is in Cedars Sinai in LA. Jim's a former NPC Cali and long on the SoCal bodybuilding scene.
He's been in and out of the hospital since having an spinal fusion done (9 vertabrea fused and patched, two rods implanted) and is now undergoing hyperbaric O2 treatment to speed healing the wound. Emotionally and spiritually he's doing well, just bored to tears and antsy to get back to his bro's at Golds Venice.
This all came about from a drug study he participated in 20 years ago. the drug ended up settling in the cartilage, triggering an immune response and causing the body to attack it's own cartilage.
