Hello, Well the results of my contest on July 14th was I won my Master's 35-40 class for the second consecutive time and I placed 3rd in my light heavyweight class. I placed 5th last year. I had some pretty good competition this year. I had 5 in my masters division and 14 in my open class. All in all, I am pretty happy about my placings. I am planning on competiting again on December 1st at the Northern Rocky Mountain. My wife wants me to and I think I can do well there also. That would leave me 6 months to the Shawn Ray Pro/Am. So Tim, I am going to need your assistance on multiple prep for contest in a year. since you are the master at staying in shape almost year round. I will be contacting you for advice on how to do this next one. take care all, John p.s. Pictures are posted at www.Jefftaylor.com. Go to the results page and click on the blue camera icon at the top. Go to the event and I am the first in the master's photos. My number is 17 and my name is John Merz.

Hey all:
I was at the show and I have to tell you that the competition was at an alltime high there. John faced some VERY stiff competition and I'm really proud of him doing so well- it's great to see a fellow WOTW'er and another Coloradan doing so well. John is going places- people took notice of him.
I attended the prejudging with a few buddies of mine, one of which is an accomplished competitor and massive guy-- he was very impressed with John's size and conditioning. After the show he took a look at last years pics and was blown away by the progress that John has made since last year.
I will be competing with John this next year (notice I say WITH and not AGAINST- I have a LONG way to go to be at his level)
John- GREAT going man and keep it up- can't wait to see you compete on Dec 1st.

My friends,
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Yes, this one was pretty darn rough mentally for some reason. Recovering now and getting fatter by the minute. Looks like the wife and I have decided that I should make a run at the 2007 NPC Northern Rocky Mountain Classic on December 1st. That is my biggest question: Coming off a precontest and I have eaten like a hog for a week. I am planning on kicking off my 16 week prep next Monday. I am planning on trying to improve some of my weak points and gaining some weight back and then I will follow my pre-contest regimen for 8 weeks. What do you guys think? I know many of you experienced champs compete at mulitple shows a year and have great success doing so. Please give me some of your insight.
Thank you for all of your kinds and encouraging words. Mike I look forward to having you on stage brother. I will be honored. To the rest of my metal heads, it is onward and upward.

You look outstanding John! Damn near perfect proportions, thick from head to toe and ripped to the bone! I don't see any weak points! Keep it rollin!
