I have to apologize for the lack of time i have been able to spend here. I do get to stop in but usually only for minute or two.
With the new part/full time job and my existing job, plus training it has been hard to find any free time.
The new job is a lot of fun and I really like to know I may be making a positive change in someone's life. That means a lot to me.
They are pushing me to go full time but with the mrs. having a full commission job it's just not going to happen --- Yet.
the money has been good so far - I make more than the Mrs. working less hours. If you don't recall I am selling personal training packages for a new Gold's Gym in the area.
For the OHIO crew it is the new one to open in Legacy Village.
I did have a rough couple of days though, no sales Sun or Mon but I don't "hard close" and all sales are up and down at times, add in the fact that I am very, very new at this I expect some slow times.
The day job is status quo, it may get really ugly soon but it depends on the quality of the product/machines being sent, so who knows.
The gym job had a slight turn in an unexpected way last night. It turns out the three training directors (which I am one of) have to provide free training to 6 clients each, once a week for a period of time. The bad news is these are the Cleveland Cavs Cheerleaders. I know it sucks to be me!!!
As long as I keep the job and don't get fired for poor performance it should be good fun.
The workouts were put on hold for one week until I got things set. Only missed one chest, one back and an arm workout. Now things are less hectic and I signed up for another gym to get my morning workouts in. the workouts are shorter but more intense.
so it's a new learning curve but again it's fun and I think I will improve because of it.
***Still considering the Nov 3rd show in FL.
The Mrs. is quitting her job very soon and will be either getting a new job in the area or if nothing opens by mid Sept. she will be moving to Jacksonville, FL to find work and stay with friends. I'm never home now anyway so no strain there.
I am hoping she makes the move, as this will open more doors for us.
Should she find good work I can move into the full time slot at the gym and not worry too much about the steady income. I honestly believe I'll make a significant increase in pay and it's something I want and believe in.
If she finds that she loves FL, then I will put in my time at the gym, get experience and move at a later date.
IF she is just so-so with it and I am making enough for both of us then she will come back and we will continue on here in Ohio.
More doors become open if she makes the move.
For one - If I take the gym job full time and find out in 6 months it's not working out then I simply move to FL. If she were to stay here and I leave my day job and find out later the gym gig is not something that pans out, then I am still in Ohio with a very, very poor chance to find decent work.
Some people think we are a bit nuts to be doing this but it's not so far out there when you want to do something more for your family. Of course I know a good number of people who are asking WHY? Well honestly because I don't believe in settling for "good enough". I don't want to come home after "putting in my time" at a job that offers no reward and watch TV, etc, etc.
I want more out of life and I want more for my lovely wife.
If that means making a sacrifice for a year or so then i am willing to do that. The Mrs. has been in similar situation before, during Desert Storm both her and her first husband were active duty in different duty stations. almost 2 years passed before things settled back in.
Time will tell.
I'll be stopping in but unfortunately posting will be limited. This took me most of the day to write up, so I hope everyone is doing well and I'll talk to you all soon.
