Let me start off by saying thank you to all of you guys who wished me well. It was so motivating to read your posts. I cannot thank you enough.
A friend of mine from work has been trying to get me to do a bench meet for awhile now. In fact he use to work with Eric (EBA84), his name is Jim Patterson, and he is a beast at benching.
He actually won best lifter today, weighing in at 198 and benching 425!!!
Let me say I was nervous!! especially after hearing the rules. I had to use a thumb around the bar grip. I usually use a false grip, so I wasn't sure how that would affect me.
I weighed in at 303! ;D I opened with 365, and that was easy. My second attempt was 385 and that was also easy. They asked about my 3rd attempt and thats when they told me I had tied the PA state Raw record. So I jumped up to 400 and got that one. I was a little nervous because it started slow, but at the half way point it got easy!
So they asked if I wanted to do a 4th attempt and Jim talked me into doing 405. That went up just like the 400. Jim thought I could have gotten 415.
This was one of the best days of my life!!!!
It felt awesome to get over 400!!!
And set the record. And win my class!!!
I am hooked. I want to progressively drop my wieght to 250, but I think I am a powerlifter for life!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome! And some great lifters too!!!!
Thanks again for all the support from the family of WOTW!!
Your all the best.
