Trust you are well Vince. Hope you can answer these questions.....
1 How did you train for power lifting back then? ( Split/ frequency/Sets & Reps)
2 Did you incorporate any Olympic lifting?
3 What were your diet strategies like and what was your source of post-workout replenishment?
4 How frequently did you max-out on your lifts?
5 What were your mental strategies prior to attempting a new pr.
6 3 do's & 3 dont's on your side for members of WOTW for enhancing their progress in every aspect.

I.I would Cycle My Training working on a %of 1RM Generally a 16 week Cycle.Starting 4 weeks of sets of 5.The second 4 weeks were Triples. The Third were doubles and Final 4 weeks were singles.I would estimate an increase in the 1 RM and adjust accordingly.(Brief Description) 2I did a Little Olympic lifting when I trained with Chuck Vinci Olympic Champion 56 and 60 ,but concentrated on Power. 3 When I trained for Power back in the day I ate a lot!!1 Sometimes a dozen eggs in mourning and Couple pounds beef at night(I did not watch my diet until I started Bodybuilding)In fact to gain weight for the 22o class ,I ate a half gallon of Butter Pecan Ice cream at night(NOT RECOMMENDED!!!) 4 I maxed out about once every 12 weeks.I should have saved my max for a contest,as I pulled 880 in the Gym in 1976 at200 lbs I definitely should have cycled it in a contest!!! I wish I knew as much about training and nutrition as I do now!!! 5I actually do not know what I was thinking prior to a new PR.If I thought ,I missed the lift!!Sort of in the Zone 6.My main advice is to set a Goal and Grab onto with a Pit bull Mindset!!!Bite into your Goal and do not Release until it is Realized!!! Thank You My Friend

Vince, how and when did you incorporate goodmornings in your routine??
Did you compete in olympic lifting? What were your best clean & Jerk / Snatch poundages?
How has your training/diet changed since the time you competed and now. Do you still train heavy?
Vince! Other than drugs what do you think is the major reason for bench presses injuries today as opposed to yesteryears?

How has your training/diet changed since the time you competed and now. Do you still train heavy? Vince! Other than drugs what do you think is the major reason for bench presses injuries today as opposed to yesteryears? Actually I did not like GMs because of my structure. I trained with Chuck Vinci in the 70s after his retirement from OL ,but mostly power.Dabbled a Little on the Olympic Lifts but never competed. Today I train mostly for Health and Fitness.I eat more Fresh fruits and Vegetables than Protein like Meats Ect.Except on My Junk DAY(LOTS OF WINGS AND BEERLOL) I am so busy training Clients I get my workouts in Between. Not too many of my clients are strong enough to spot me.95% of which are Females with Fitness not Strength Goals. With the Advent of shirts and supportive gear injuries have taken a different perspective,at which I am not too familiar.I know I had a few Shoulder injuries oin my Career
