Today was the leg day. I had been psyched up for this day from past two days as I wanted to beat my previous pr in Front Squats. After winding up with hectic day at work I was all set but something seemed to be wrong.
From morning something wasn't feeling right. Next thing you know I had a bad fever by afternoon coupled with headaches, bodyaches and vomiting. By the time it was evening the condition went from bad to worse. Perhaps food poisoning.
There was this one part of me which was shouting it's time to just relax whereas this other half was shouting " Don't chicken out soldier, it's wartime tonite". Once I was compelled to even call my partner and take the day off but I decided otherwise.
Off I went to the gym conditioning myself that it was just a regular day and I was just fine and a great workout was there in store for me.
Here was the workout........
Started with Front Squats but the olympic style : Power cleaning the weight from the bottom to the shoulders....
Set 1 135 x 5
Set 2 170 x 5
Set 3 225 x 5
Set 4 255 x 5
There was this accident waiting to happen. As I was done with my set I tried to jerk the bar, catch it and keep it down but unfortunately it slipped and off it came on the floor brushing against one of my shins which was profusely bleeding. But that wasn't gonna stop me.
Set 5 255 x 5.
Set 6 170 x 20
Romanian Deadlifts
Set 1 135 x 8
Set 2 225 x 8
Set 3 315 x 8
Set 4 365 x 8
Set 5 365 x 8.
Set 6 225 x 20
Now was the main part which I really dread.......
Squats :
3 sets of 225 x 20, 17, 17 reps supersetted with Leg Extns the entire stack for 15, 12 , 12 reps
One Legged Curl : 4 sets of 8 reps.
I wanted to continue with my workout but again as the sickness took over and off I rushed to the bathroom for yet another saga of puking.
That was it. I know it was very stupid on my part to do it but someone had to do it and I didn't want to disappoint my training partner either.
I am at home now, already taken some medications, feeling better though and also applied ointment to the bruised shin.
Heck! They don't call me Spitzenreiter for nothing.
