Delhi is the capital city of India. But it is also known as the rape capital as it is one of the most unsafe cities for women including foreigners. Long back I was vacationing in Goa in a resort where I happened to meet this wonderful Caucasean lady (British). After sometime of chatting with her I realised that she had come to visit India to see the historical places and stuff. She also seemed to be particularly very disappointed about going to Delhi particularly b'cos she too happened to be a victim of eveteasing and constant stares( which can make any women feel uncomfortable). Several cases of rapes have happened there also with foreigners (white women). As a matter of fact it is considered to be risky even for a Indian (local) women to venture out of the house after 9pm alone. Can you believe that sh*t.
Mumbai is one of the most happening and by far one the safest places you will find in India apart from Goa. But some people are just dumb. This New Year's eve along with last New year's eve a couple ventured on the streets after a party towards their hotel at the odd hours of 2am in search of cabby on New Year's Eve( Big mistake). There were two guys who were accompanied by two women. Suddenly they were surrounded by a mob of what seemed to be 40 to 50 men who started misbehaving with the women ( groping, grabbing and pinching them) and molested them for full 15 minutes after which the police arrived to take control of the situation.
The couple were from California (Indian's) who had come to India to visit there parents on a short trip. They seemed to be absolutely devastated and shocked.
This kind of incident in Mumbai is a rarity but it still shook the nation and enraged whole lot of people.
Somewhere in Kerala on the same night a daughter of a Swedish Counsalate was molested on the beach. Man! This sure brings a lot of bad publicity to this country because of such assho**es.
