Bernie and I went down to Karries gym for our Saturday Workout. Got our normal dead lift workout accomplished in a new and different environment.
It appears that Karries gym has been around for awhile, and leans to the "old school" gym genre. Four rooms broken up by cardio, machines, etc. Booya!
We even had a cameo appearance from Terry and the kids! (Happy belated B-day to Dillon! (Karries youngest!))
She should be headed up tp our gym next Saturday.
We are all getting ready for our first PL meets for the year (March & April for the girls, late April for me).
For those of you who are new to this board, Bernie and I met Karrie right here at WOTW about a year ago, and now our new found friends are workoing out right alongside us!
Also looks like Bernie and I may be working the Arnold this year to help out on the PL platform. Hope to see many of you there!
Looks like 2008 is underway! "Git 'er Done!"

Awesome! good luck with all your training. Sounds like you have a cool gym Karrie. Where do you and mrbeefy live? Our gym is cool, but a little on the dirty side, but then again I am a complete CLEAN FREAK, with two kids my house is pretty clean all the time. Our gym is a true "old school" type gym, which is nice b/c they have everything I need for powerlifting. My husband switched gyms for a few weeks and tried, what I call a "Foo foo" gym and it was all machines, one smith machine and DB's that only went up to 100....it was PACKED all the time and he had to wait for things, so that ended and he is back at our gym.

Hey Karrie, nothing wrong with a hard core gym. Training is what it is all about. I actually have 2 memberships here, one at a clean gym with cardio and one at what we call "The Dungeon" where my husband trains.
The Dungeon is in a old basement and is really hardcore, but it is nice sometimes because there isn't too many people around. I like the variety of both places.

That's cool mrbeefy. Do you usually make it to the Arnold every year to watch?
Hopefully someday I can make it there. I am going to fill out my application form later this fall for the 2009 Arnold. I guess we will see. It would be my dream to be there.

CeaAnna! Yes, we've been to the Arnold a number of times. ALWAYS a good time. The only thing I dislike is the crowd at the Expo. The isles are narrow and they have SO MANY people there, especially Saturday afternoon, that you CANNOT walk. It is actually a safety hazard. We always bring home a few bags of "freebies" too This year we have been asked to assist with the powerlifting, so we will most likley be there for the entire weekend. Frank

I believe Karrie works out at Tough Bodies in Barberton. Here's Jinnifer (the owner) and a few pics I took there in June of 2006.

It's a great gym. Been there myself! Caught a good workout with Mr. Mills too! BTW - What's the story about the rumor I hear the Horvath is opening his own place around the corner? Word travels fast even when I'm in Toldedo. I guess when you're in the business of gym operations not much gets done without everyone hearing about it even if it's rumor. So is there any truth to Faith Gym? Sal

The new YMCA just opened and Tough Bodies has been CRAZY busy, so I think not sure how it is going to do. I do not talk to him at all anymore so I am unsure as to why there have been delays, I thought it was suppose to have been open late 2007, but not as of yet.

Thanks for the info Karrie. I honestly don't know much more about it now that I'm in Toledo but I did catch word of it.
I'm glad the T-B is doing well. It's my kind of place.
