Men and Women Amateur Master Athletes Can Become a FAME Master Pro
The World Natural Sports Organization, FAME, is inviting all male and female amateur master athletes to compete in 2008 FAME World Tour shows to earn your Pro Status in FAME, with the opportunity to win fabulous cash and other prizes as a FAME Pro.
There will be a dozen opportunities to turn Pro between now and June, 2008. And, FAME will offer several more contests between June and the end of the year. Here are the shows leading up to the 2008 FAME World Championships in Toronto:
FAME West, Vancouver, BC, April 5
Ian Walling FAME Centrals, Brampton, ON, April 12
FAME East, Montréal, PQ, April 19
Derrick Brown FAME Prairies, April 26
FAME European Championships, London, England, April 27
Diana Chaloux FAME South Central Championships, San Antonio, TX, May 3
Lyzabeth Lopez FAME Classic, Toronto, ON, May 10
Ava Cowan FAME Tropical, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, May 17
Nicole Costa FAME Model Search Championships, Providence, RI, May 24
Ainsley McSorley FAME Model Search Championships, Winnipeg, MB, May 24
FAME Sin City, Las Vegas, NV, May 31 - Final Qualifier for the FAME World Championships
FAME World Championships – Amateur and Pro Showdown, Toronto, ON, June 13-15.
The FAME competitions schedule for the second half of 2008 will he announced soon.
Age Classes for Masters Amateur Competitions:
Masters: Men 40+; Female 35+
Grand Masters: Men 50+, Female 45 +
Super Grand Masters: Men 60+, Female 55+
The winner in each of these categories, with five or more contestants in the class, would be eligible for pro status – winners would then compete in the Masters Pro Division.
So, yes, anyone, 35+ for females or 40+ for males can become a FAME Master Pro. FAME could award up to six Master Pro Cards at each event.
FAME Master Pro Division
FAME Media Group has instituted a Masters Pro Division to provide seasoned athletes the opportunity to compete at a higher status and for cash prizes. All rules follow the World Natural Sports Organization (WNSO) sanction.
Age Classifications for the Master Pro Division
FAME Muscle - Men, Two Classes: 40-54 // 55 and older
FAME Muscle - Women, One Class: 35 and older
FAME Fitness Model - Men, One Class: 40 and older
FAME Fitness Model - Women, One Class: 35 and older
FAME Fitness - Women, One Class: 30 and older
Master Pros from Other Organizations:
Holders of Masters Pro cards from recognized natural federations are invited to apply to the World Natural Sports Organization for acceptance of their entry in the 2008 FAME World Tour Masters Pro Competitions. Applicants must provide their name and contact information, a recent photo, information on their Master Pro status and their competitive record.
WNSO Pros (who fall within the masters age category):
WNSO Pros, who have reached the age classification for their class, are eligible to compete in both the Masters Pro Class and the Open Pro Class.
Pros from other Organizations (who fall within the masters age category):
Holders of Pro cards from recognized natural federations, who have reached the age classification for their class, are invited to apply to World Natural Sports Organization for acceptance of their entry in the competition. Applicants must provide their name and contact information, a recent photo, information on their Pro status and their competitive record.
2008 FAME Master Pro World Championships, Toronto, ON, June 14
This will be a stand-alone event on Saturday as part of a three-day 2008 FAME World Championships and Pro Showdown.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three placers in each class. The amount of prize money will be determined by the number of entrants and the availability of sponsors.
Each competitor will be required to pay a contest entry fee and membership fee to WNSO, including a fee for a WNSO Master Pro Card. A portion of the membership and Master Pro Card fees will be added to the cash prize pool.
Master Pro Qualifying Events
Beginning in 2008, all FAME World Tour regional events will be Master Pro Qualifiers. All first place winners from the Masters Classes with at least five contestants in a class will be awarded a WNSO Master Pro Card.
The Competition
All FAME World Tour Master Pro competitions will be conducted in the same manner as FAME Pro Show competitions. Please see website for details: FAME World Events
