Q: Has anyone worked with Dave Palumbo? Tried his Diet and/or workouts? Tried his Contest Prep?
Any comments?
Thanks,
Frank

I know Dave Palumbo is renown to have a lot of knowledge about the sport... but am I the only one who would hesitate to fallow the tips of guy with a physique like that? :-) J/K
By the way Chris, I like the new signature :-)

I used his diet for the last half of my last prep. I liked it. I had less "low carb" moments, that is less dumb moments, less light headedness, less crankiness. It's a good diet and your body gets used to being in keto mode and you feel good for the most part...HOWEVER it left me VERY VERY flat and it was hard to control and modify toward the end. I think I over cardio'd and hurt my chances. I'm working with Broser again (bodyfx) and it is tough with the low (not no carbs), but I"m much fuller.

Hi Frank! I own Dave Paulmbo's Perfect Prison Physique which is a very good book. If you want to know more about Dave's dietary and training philosophies his MD forums column would be the best source where Dave answers all the questions. He generally recommends doing one bodypart a day with a high intensity and low volume. Techniques like partial reps, rest pause, forced reps etc used sparingly. For a guy who is on the leaner side say 10-12% bodyfat he recommends 1 gm per pound of bodyweight protein, 1 gm per pound of bodyweight carbs and 0.5 gms per pound of bodyweight fats For an individual whose fat % is on the higher side say 19 to 25 % he recommends 1 gm protein. 0.5 gms fats and carbs in the range of 30 to 50 gms. For the latter individual he is allowed to eat 1 carb meal per week. Hope this is helpful. #goodlucksmiley0jv# What I like about Dave is...... Very simple and easy to adhere to philosophy No overemphasis on supplementation Fast and siginificant improvements in bodycomposition if followed to the "T" Plus if you have any difficulties the man is always there to answer your any queries on his thread on the MD boards.
