I've read through a lot of different post on here, and am more inspired now than I was before. I have been eating clean foods now for a month, and have lost 31 pounds. At every meal I eat a protein, a natural carbohydrate, and the occasional fat at every 3 hours. I don't eat anything after 7 in the evening, and drink a gallon of water a day.
I have 4 months before I go on vacation, and would like to go as a fit man. My weight is 263, and would like to be around 200 by mid July.
I'm hoping that some of you that compete in the art of bodybuilding could give me some pointers in dieting. Something a little more specific than eating clean like I already am. Pointers in the gym as I just rejoined for the first time in years. I would like to be one of those ! WOW ! stories, and that's a lot of weight to drop. Thanks for any help.....
;D

I trust you don't mean you lost 31lbs in a month? If so- ummm keep doing what you're doing For the average person, a "healthy" rate of fat loss is .5-1lbs a week. Yes, more is possible, but at the typical rate... you'd be very hard-pressed to lose 60lbs in the next 12-14 weeks.

I just read your intro thread... you claim to have lost about 7lbs a week. Seriously, if you have and aren't wasting muscle, 1) congrats, 2) don't change a thing until you stall because, seriously... that's pretty unreal weight loss and you'd be at your goal about end of May.

Coming this Monday will be my 5th week in. When I first weighed myself 4+ weeks ago I was full of food, and water. I was a big guy consuming a ton of calories. 294 is what the scale said, but my body was full with junk. I quit cold turkey so to speak, and am only consuming 1800-2000 calories a day now. I lost a lot of water. I don't believe I've lost any muscle mass in the process. I consume 6oz of a lean meat every three hours. A very high protein diet. My weight loss has slowed down now as I'm only targeting fat.
I would like to know if I should tweak my diet to be a little bit more specific for weight lifting, and leaning out?

Oh yeah, I don't know much about cycling carbs, but wonder if that would work wonders... I guess what I'm saying is I'm looking for the path that is least resistant...

Dont stop eating just because its after 7pm. Take in a protein source and some efa's or have a good protein drink just NO carbs..
Weigh yourself first thing in the morning. Pick a day like saturday morning and weigh yourself...Use that day every week or every other week.
Carb cycling is a great way to lose weight. Tims got a great article posted here on carb cycling that he wrote. If you need help with a starting carb cycle you will need to throw up a current weight for us.
Are you taking any fat burners and doing any cardio?

Thanks Hoopie..... My current weight is 263.2 as of this morning. I usually weigh myself on Wednesday morning when I first get up. That's before I eat, or drink, and use the restroom both ways; then I weigh. The only supplement I'm on is CLA, Fish Oil, Vitamin. I have been looking at Fat Burners, but not sure as which one is the best, so any advice would be good. Have looked into Lipo6, but that was just a starting point. I've recently joined a gym for the first time in some years, and am recovering from the upper body workout I got. I hit every muscle group so I could just go through the sore phase faster. My Cardio has consisted of 1 mile on the treadmill, walking/jogging. It definitely would be nice for someone to point me in the right direction to convert my body to muscle. I'm not just fat, as I used to lift many years ago. I just need to lose the fat to see it again....

Congratulations on your progress! You've came to the right place for help and motivation! I agree with Hoopie, Tim has a great article on carb cycling and most of us here use a variation of it when we're shooting for a contest. I'll be happy to answer any questions as well.

Blaze,
Congrats on your progress.
My only commnet would be "pace yourself". Slow down.
Most weight that comes off "quickly" isn't fat, but water, and it can come back just as fast. I just wouldn't want you to try some "get rich quick" fat-loss schemes, and be totally disappointed down the road.
2 pounds per week fat loss is attainable and suggested.
The best way to go about this is the old time-tested way: Clean diet and hard work.
Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither was Blaze.
See the goal. Reach for the goal. Attain the goal.
Carpe' Diem my friend.
