Yes ...fitday is great ...i have been using it for over a year now.
There are a few areas of fitday though which merit debate.
In the home profile area it asks you what sort of work you do. I do seated work with some movement. The other alternative is seated work no movement.
I find that prompting "seated work with some movement" greatly increases my total calories i must consume every day. So i choose the no movement option.
Also i find fitday does not calculate weight lifting and treadmill calories very well.
If you do HIIT , on the treadmill, i would increase the amount of time you input in fitday by about 30%.
Also it depends how you weight lift.... I sometimes do intensive exercises one after the other without any rest between sets. My lungs are exploding ....
I think that one should also increase the weight lifting times in fitday by about 20% if one is getting little or no rest.

Gino,The calorie expenditures On Fitday and also on most cardio equipment is at best a "guesstimate".
They give you a general idea of where you are as far as calories go.
I calculate my intake but very seldom do I attempt to calculate how much I burn as it is just too "iffy".
Instead I monitor progress by the mirror and adjust calories accordingly.
The mirror is the way to go as long as you are critical and honest in your assessment of yuour progress.

i have used FitDay.com to track my diet progress for the last 4 shows i have competed in. the best part of the site is the ability to make your own food profiles like MRP drinks

I've been using FitDay for some time now. I even went so far as to enter my vitamin supplements as "food items" to show my overall profiles including my vities. The charts and related graphs are my favorite nifty feature. Great profiles on nutritional elements and completely "customizeable"... not to mention free T

you got to watch out though when you EDIT your menu of food .
I sometimes delete something and add it back on..the calories fats, carbs, etc. are different...

This is where it's at Tim. I have decided to ramp my mileage way down, so need to pay more attention to diet.
I think that the simple action of writing the food I eat will help me make better choices.

What an eye opener. I eat a ton of fat and I definitely eat cleaner than most of the people I know. No wonder the USA and particularly the South have so many obese people.

fitday is a great site for logging your diet. I never ever counted calories EVER in my life until I started using fitday. When I did, I realized I didn't take in enough calories a day.
The activities make me chuckle a bit though.

Fitday is great, I definitly take advantage of the custom food option, where I can just look at the labels in my cupboards and refrigerator and type them in, makes things very easy and accurate
