I've been trying to find something good ...for PWo nutrition. Something not big..but fast. Something besides protein powser. Or Gatorade Thirst Quenchers.
can you give me a good list of something small...and easy to digest that won't get me full... I am suppose to eat/drink this RIGHT after my HIIT right.....so i don't want anything big...
Can you make a list of somethings you would suggest.
I thought about PROPEL FITNESS WATER...low in sugar, and is water....so i can deal with that. but not sure if it is considered a PWO nutrition item.

Go to a health food store and get some dextrose. It`s a simple sugar that digests fast and it`s about 3.00 a pound or something like that.Mix it with a whey shake and water.They both digest very quickly.
Dextrose and maltodextrose are the products most commonly used by bodybuilders PW.
Other fast digesting carbs that are used PW are: white rice white bread gatorade fruit juice(not a great choice really) tang instant breakfast drink powder
They all digest very fast and will be utilized in a good way.

I was wondering if i can incorporate white rice ....into a meal...so there isn't a POST - POST workout meal.
As in after i do HIIT which ends at around 5pm or so. Do ab exercises....5: 15pm Then after i do abs..i eat 1/4 cup of white rice. 6oz of chicken and lots of fibrous veggies. HOw is this?

Like i mentioned....Rice is my favorite food...i'm chinese...so this is perfect..if White rice is acceptable if i do cardio or train that day. Yay!!! Curry Rice.!!! Wait..if white rice is good PWO then how come sushi can't be made into a PWO.....ehh...maybe because fish fat....

That would work mx,but no fats PW ,they slow digestion down big time and you want the nutrients to get to the muscles as fast as possible.

Darn!! I'm going to go adjust my diet in Training Journal now...(again)...grr.... That means i eat rice every day...i should start making it. Should it be 1/4 cup dry ...or 1/4 cup cooked rice?

1/4 cup dry is good.
Take protein in at this time along with the rice .

5pm (PWO)- 1/4 cup of white rice, 6oz chicken breast, 1 cup of veggies.

Because your body will still utilize them efficiently.
Some experts say there is a 3 hour window of opportunity to take advantage of PWO nutrition. This means to get those nutrients in during that 3 hour time period.

PWO as in immediately after workout is it? White rice shoulde be fine, but IMO, i think white bread would be better if you do not want to ingest sugar(dex/malto) directly.
I don't think chicken with your pwo meal would be the best choice of protein too. It wouldn't digest as quickly as whey. What i think would work well under these contexts are white bread and pro shake combo.

I was wondering...for Insulin Spike...is it best to have a GI of 100.....or it really doesn't matter as long as it is above low...

I've been doing some research on the rice i ate....
It seems Brown Rice (steamed, USA) has 50 gi....very low...lowest of all the brown rice that showed up.
And the highest i found was Jasmine Rice, long grain, Thailand (cooked in rice cooker) Gi of 109.
I was wondering...is Steamed Brown rice done in a rice cooker???
