Okay, I'm sabotaging my results, I find it SOOOO hard to stop eating sweets and good tasting foods. What do you guys tell yourself, or what you do in order to fight the temptations and not give in to eating food that will sabotage a cutting routine?

Mystic, the first thing I do when dieting is to get all junk food out of the house.Give it to friends ,or throw it away!
Secondly I think of my goals and how my competition is training hard and dieting strictly.
I also think of my detractors who say I will fail.
Nothing spurs me on to train harder and eat better than to hear people say I can`t do it.
Also some of the snacks I gave you, while not comparing to pizza and cheesecake can help to keep your appetite for sweets at bay.

Good advice Tim. I did get some sugar-free Jello instant pudding and it's very good, although it has aspartame. Also I've been having some sugar-free Fudgesticles with splenda which are quite tasty. Next time I will just flat out refuse and slam a glass of water or have a piece of fruit instead. That chocholate torte I had last night was a bad idea.

I know the feeling bro. If I weaken ,and eat one brownie ,I`m gonna` eat about 30 of those bad boy`s!! ;D The best thing to do is not to give in to cravings.Although hard at times you can train yourself mentally to stop. One thing I`ve noticed when I did screw up a diet is that the "forbidden" food I ate wasn`t worth it afterwards and usually made me feel bad mentally as well as guilty and sometimes even sick if I went overboard. Stay strong!!

Eat things you know you like. For me...i like Curry..so eat curry... I like Almonds...so eat almonds. Oatmeal..i love oatmeal..eat oatmeal..... White rice...i thought i couldn't eat any while getting six pack..but guess what..it turns out to be good PWO food!!! All i can say is substitute.. you know.. Eat yogurt for sweets..... Drink Flavored Protein Shakes. Luckily for me ..my mind is strong...i gotten rid of manythings i liked: Chocolate, Peanuts, Bananas, All Fruits, Soy Crisps(not bad at all..but i prefer almonds), Toasts (french toasts), Hot Chocolate, Sushi, and many other things. Sweets...if you really want it..i say eat Fruit or Yogurt. If not you can always grab some veggies and stuff yourself so you won't eat any..

I had to do it gradually with fruits, almonds, yogurt, stevia and such. Now, the cravings are gone! I don't want hamburgers or chocolate pudding or pies. The other day I bought a hamburger and felt terrible afterwards

Sharon, That`s what I meant about regretting eating these things afterwards.
I did a contest in Orlando Fla. and I was craving a Whopper from Burger King.
I was eating so clean that when I did eat the burger after pre-judging I ended up eating two but they really tasted terrible.
I had to eat it but it was greasy and all I could really taste was salt as I hadn`t eaten anything salty in months.
Then I felt guilty...... but very full. ;D

There`s a lot to gain and a lot to be said for giving up bad eating habits, that`s for sure.

All my friends wonder why I do it (diet, avoid good tasting foods). They're rationale is that you only live once, and you should enjoy yourself and eat the foods you love, just in moderation. Moderation would be nice, but when dieting it isn't going to help.

It's going okay. The worst thing is my strength level. It's kinda depressing. I was lifting alot more when I was 171lbs than I am now at 153lbs. Granted I've lost some fat, but probably lost some muscle (before I started your diet). I like lifting 5x's a week though, it keeps me active and busy.

Cool, you`ll probably add some lean mass once you`ve been on the routine and diet consistantly for a while.
As a bodybuiolder I wamt power too,but my main objective is to look good. I`ll never be Hercules ,but I`m not weak at all either.
As long as you are satisfied with how you look it`s all good.
