I know this isn't that important...but i was curious.
Which company of Canned Seafood do you guys eat?
chicken of the sea ? or Starkist?
I currently eat Starkist Chunk light..hmm...might try their low sodium...and then try chicken of the sea..and see whats the difference.

I've heard they have the low sodium version ....of tuna..and other seafood..even canned oysters!!!
Is low sodium preverably better??

I don`t think you really should worry too much about it,unless you are taking in excessive amounts.
If you drink a ton of water, it will flush out sodium anyway.

I eat whatever is on sale, which is usually the store brand. And I rinse it in a collander under the faucet to get rid of extra sodium. Plus it tastes better to me.

Is chicken of the sea chunk light tuna the same taste and quality as Starkist Chunk Light?? or is chicken of the sea look like chicken breasts?? lol

I`m buying Chicken Of The Sea because it`s 3 for a buck,if it wasn`t I`d buy whatever is the chewapest. When you eat eggs and tuna like I do you go for the sales.

Ya..i'm trying to find the cheapest ......right now i'm getting 56 eggs or so for 3-4 bucks..not sure if that is good buy..but that i'll last me 3 days. ;D

Chicken of the Sea is best. They're solid albacore is fantastic. Starkists is way too dry.

...hmmm ...then i'm going to have to try a can of chicken of the sea.....and see the difference...once i'm done eating 20 or so more cans of Starkist Chunk Light..which shouldn't be too long if i eat 1 can everyday. Do you guys try their Salmon or crab? or their other products...?? or just Albacore and Chunk Light tuna?

While the topic is still here, I bought some of the tuna in a package that you can just tear the top off of and eat. It is great! It has just the amount of water to make it wet enough to swallow. Has 21gms of protien as does the cans. This is perfect for when I am on the run. It is a little more pricey here at around .92 a package.

Not dry at all either.Too expensive for me the way I eat so much of it but I do buy a few packs occasionally.

Yeah I love that tuna in a packet stuff, it is goooooood.. ;D Very convenient.. BTW Chicken of the sea for me!

Hmm, tuna packets, that's a good idea. Do they have less sodium than the canned variety? If so, I may have to get that next time I goto the store.

Just get the low sodium variety for caned ones. The package one is a bit more expensive..if you eat alot of tuna that is. I think Can is better mainly because it is cheaper..you can buy them in bulk...and they last longer than pouches.
Although..i've not been eating Tuna Much.....been eating FRESH RAW Norwegian Salmon Fillet......!!!

I can't seem to find any wild salmon around Las Vegas...they all sell the Atlantics...which are farmraised!!
I think i'm going to invest on those Chicken of the Sea Pouches..Pink Salmon 7oz....its about 8oz..so i guess its alright...at least i get to know the nutrition facts of it. Sodium is way high though. 280mg x 3.5= 980mg sodium!!!
I wonder if TraderJoes has any Pink , or Coho Salmon....if they do i'm going to get some.

I mailed in a question about OMEGA 3 in starkist tuna.....and this is what they mailed back.
"Albacore tuna with 1 gram of fat is a good source of Omega 3 with 450 milligrams of Omega 3 per serving. Albacore tuna with 3 grams of fat per serving contains 694 milligrams of Omega 3 per serving.
StarKist Chunk Light Tuna has 244 milligrams of Omega 3 per serving.
The Low Sodium varieties are at the same levels."
I'm currently Eating the Chunk White LOW Sodium Variety. Its Delicious....and packing 35grams of protein per can....
