I've noticed Green Tea has alot of health benefits..but also Caffeine. Which is something i don't want...especially since i'm still growing.
I was wondering if taking Green Tea Supplement (suppose to have very very little caffeine) is okay.

Max, You can also get de-cafeinated tea!
I never tried the pills myself but have heard they were OK .

Green tea lowers testosterone levels, so I'd drink it sparingly. I'm a huge tea person, but since hearing about the test. level thing, I've switched to Earl Grey almost exlclusively.

Jay, I never heard of the testosterone lowering properties associated with green tea before.
I`m not saying you are wrong because I really have no clue, but there is a gigantic article about green tea on Muscle Mayhem`s board in the nutrition section.
Here is a brief snippet from the article:
Green tea extract and aromatase activity
Green tea extract has been found to inhibit aromatase activity in male rats. (Aromatase is an enzyme that converts androgens to estrogens.) A recent study administered green tea extract catechins to male rats for two, four and eight weeks, starting at age five weeks. It was found that a 5% dose to male rats for two to eight weeks induced goiters and decreased weights of the body, testis and prostate gland. The treatment elevated circulating thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), luteinizing hormone (LH) and testosterone levels, and decreased tri-iodothyronine and thyroxine levels (hormones secreted by the thymus gland). Green tea exhibited inhibitory effects on human placental aromatase activity. The endocrinological changes in the body were anti-thyroid effects and aromatase inhibition due to the effects of green tea extract and its components.

I read about it from a reputable source many months back. I will try and fish it out again. I was drinking alot of green tea, but when I heard the news I almost stopped drinking it. Like I said, I'll try and find the article.

Green tea is good for you...the decaf one that is. There is a Caffeine free one that i found online...made in China ...even saids on the title ;D Chinese Green Tea...caffeine Free..
I consider green tea an Elixir of Health. It is a great antioxidant....and promotes many things....Should try it sometimes when you go eat sushi...they usually have green tea brewing in Japanese restaurants.

hmm..went to the oriental market...man ..they sell alot of stuff...and green tea. I found the Chinese Green Tea..but i didn't get it...it didn't list any ingredients or nutritional info. It just said naturally caffeine free...and low in "CALORIES"....
So far....i think i'm going to keep focus and just stick to my meal plan....for 16 weeks straight...and train hard...see what happens.
