since the get go of my bodybuilding lifestyle (I started last july) I have been trying to shed fat while toning.......my calories were quite low for my weight (200ish) pounds...so i didn't really put on any size.
after reading a few articles on carb cycling, I figure I'd give it a shot. I am going to start bulking now, but doing it in that manner. For instance, on my off days (saturday, sunday and wedsday) I will have only trace carbs/ carbs in first meal. and on 1 or two of my training days I will have under 100 grams. And one day will be a wopping 400 grams or so of carbs to replenish everything.
I am going to up my calories to about 3000 or more (that was reccmmended I should shoot for around 3500) but I am still sketchy on all of this.
on my trace carbs day it will be primarily fibrous carbs, fats, protein......and on high carb days it will be just that and protein......trace fats.
what do you all think, any input or feedback for me?

Its better to have breakfast as Starchy carbs...basically a staple for me is 1/2 cup of oatmeal...no matter what on HIGH carb or LOW CARB days.
What I do is eat my oatmeal....then switch to 3 large salads for my next 3 meals. and then the last two meals of my day consist of SALMON only ...a PROTEIN/FAT source.
On the High days..in which i usually workout...I eat my oatmeal...followed by some Brown Rice and Mushrooms....and then i go workout....Postworkout will have carbs...and then thats it. I cut carbs after PWO.....i eat a large Salad 2hours after workout. And then thats 4meals already. That leaves 2 more to be nothing but Salmon.

Brandon Sorry Brandon,I didn`t see this topic!! I would not try it that way as you will eventually end up weaker and lacking energy. Just follow my carb cycling method as written in my article to a T and I`ll bet you that you`ll get harder and gain size if you stick with it. Fibrous carbs in trace amounts will never fully replenish Glycogen levels. My carb cycling advice is pinned in the "Nutrition Section".Give it a thourough reading and let me know what you think .If you have any questions I`ll be glad to try and answer them to the best of my ability!!
