hello all.
I drink alot of fluids, more water then anything. I try to get in about a gallon a day....and more most of the time.
I do drink more later in the day since I am at work and i just am able to drink alot......
I got blood taken cause they wanted to check my iron out and they said it was dry....so I need to drink more water they said
how can this be?

They said it was dry? As in you didn't have much iron in your blood... even so, that's usually obtained from food sources.
Sorry, not clear on what they meant?
Honestly, it does sound very strange.

Drink more water when you are already driinking more than a gallon a day?
Hell when you read nutritional stuff on the web. It almost always says a half a gallon of water(8 8oz. glasses of water) is the minimum and you have already doubled that.

If you`re normally drinking over a gallon of water a day,plus other liquids and liquids obtained from food the Doc must be wrong. Two gallons a day is quite a bit for me and I normally don`t hit this mark too consistantly,usually over a gallon though! I don`t quite get it either.

Brandon:
Troysters right about iron coming from food sources, mainly foods like red meat, eggs and vegetables (broccoli, spinach, etc.). Assuming you are eating those kind of foods, it's unlikely you have a deficiency.
It's definitely a good idea to go back and ask the doctor to explain what he/she means by "dry" - better to be safe than sorry.
