see, this is where I get so confused.....cause I KNOW you need calories to gain size, but then people say the more calories you take in over expenditure you will add fat.......now how can you just add muscle with very little fat?
I mean I still eat completley clean, and I have 2 days a week (wed, and sat.) that I have low/no carbs.

diecast747, you're cycling. So in that case you're dipping above and below, above and below (or, in some cases, above and even, above and even). But your total cals for the week will be above maintenance.
No matter which method you use to bulk, you have to eat above maintenance to gain (look at it on the overall calories for the week... using either method, you'll be over maintenance at the end of the week). If you eat right and train you will gain muscle (with a tiny bit of fat). If you eat over maintenance, don't train and don't eat right, you'll gain fat.
Much of the "stuff" you read in the media and see on TV (in the news for example) is focussed on couch potatoes, not your average bodybuilder. Talk to the people who have done it and listen to them, they know what they're talking about. There are definitely different approaches, but there are some basics that hold true across the board.

diecast..you can still cycle carbs when you bulk. Just have your low calorie day be like 200 cal above maintence....and your high calorie day be 500 cal above maintenance. Generally a hard lifting day for a high calorie day. And when you start cutting..you do the opposite. Where i think you would be at maintenance on hard lifting day...and 200 or so below maintenance on couch potato day. Just my guess.
