I was talking to this guy that comes in my gnc store alot...he is pretty big and has been lifting since highschool (20 years experience)
I was telling him I started creatine and I told him I gained 10 pounds but it was just water weight.....he told me "not all of it is water weight some if it is muscle, since your allowing more nutrients to get into your muscles therefore spurring new growth"
is this true? I guess the water in my muscles allows more nutrients....hmm.

If you ask me...if you have 10lbs of water in you..you won't look too good. So i say if you look good in the mirror...its more muscle than water...

Actually, Max, creatine works by specifically filling your muscle fibers with water. It's not the same as what we typically refer to as "water gain" and it's not noticeable in the mirror, except that your muscles look larger (and they are).
Generally, d747, people report 5 - 7 lbs. of water as a rule. So, it's very likely you've put on a couple pounds! Depending on how you've been eat and training, that extra weight very well could be muscle ;D
Once you go off creatine for a few days, the extra water weight comes off again.

so does it automatically put muscle on you......or the assist it gives from you lifts put the muscle on you.
my weight shot up 7 pounds then the next time it was 10 pounds....so 1 or 2 may have been muscle weight...
first time using creatine..hopefully this will help my plataeu

... the assist it gives from you lifts put the muscle on you. I like the way you worded it there... that's EXACTLY right. So you may put on water weight, but it's the strength it'll give you and power/endurance that will help you lift heavier, stronger, etc. There is nothing you can take that will make it happen automatically... nothing works that way. Creatine is a good product but you need to keep using it for a time to get the result. Grow you, GROW ;D T
