Hey guys, I have read alot on caffiene and thermogenesis. I find it that everytime I have a coffee with no carbs I feel the thermic effect....I feel more up beat and everytime I have carbs prior or with my coffee it sort of absorbs the feeling.
does it have to do with carbs being my primary energy source and without the carbs it is using my fat as fuel...and giving me a more "up beat" effect from straight out caffiene \thanks

Nah, more likely the carbs are slowing the absorption of the caffeine/thermo's (or more accurately, keeping the absorption normal). With no food in your system, the stuff will absorb quickly, but "burn out" quicker...
However, I like to take my thermos firt thing in the morning, down 'em with a diet coke ;D for that quick wake-up BLAST!! Then I do my cardio and then I eat... just helps me wake up faster.
