I guess I take a different approach. Tim has helped me considerably, but my body is so sensitive to carbs. The diet I took on that showed an immediate effect was to somewhat cycle carbs, but go Saturday-Tuesday eating 8 meals every 2-2.5 hours. These meals were either of Lean beef and Almonds or broccoli, chicken, & flaxseed. On Wednesdays, I'd carb up w/ chicken and yams or brown rice. Thursdays, I'd cut my carbs in half from wed, but keep everything else the same. Fridays were FUN! I got to eat double fat, which meant I doubled my almond intake and flaxseed intake. Got me down to where I am now, abut 4%. Wasn't too hard until thelast week either.

Lots of people utilize carb cycling (both keto and non-keto) and get good results from it.
