how fatty is turkey bacon and where do you all get it? i'm looking for a good breakfast meat, but i'm dieting, so nothing really fatty: is turkey bacon my answer?

Generally, it's loaded with TONS of sodium and other chem's like MSG and preservatives. I won't touch it even off-season. Now, having said that, some folks don't have trouble with eating a lot of extra sodium (offseason), so one has to evaluate what works for them. Just some info. to be aware of. Breakfast meat for me = fresh chicken breast (on diet). A person's got to figure out ways to be creative. For example, if you have a food processor, use the main blade and it will grind the chicken. From that you can make all sorts of stuff like burgers or meatballs or maybe even a sausage-like roll. Add some spices (watch the salt ) and bake or fry with Pam... be creative, there are many things you can do and still be eating your staples. It's more a matter of tricking the mind ;D Yes, I know, some are easier to trick than others, LMAO!! T

well, i just bought some ground turkey (7% fat?) so that works well as a breakfast meat...I think that I'll just roll it, so that it looks more "breakfasty"

Yeah, that's an idea too! Hmmm... here's an idea (just thinking out loud):
I sometimes do this with chicken breasts (if/when I have time) -- Make your rolls, dip them in fat free, sugar fee yogurt (egg whites or whipped whole egg would work too) and then dip in oats or even ground oats (use a coffee grinder), then Pam fry or oven bake... should brown nicely and add some groovy flavor too.

T word, i used to bread ckn breasts with all sorts of awesome stuff (including frito honey bbq twists...oh. my. god. delicious)...i never considered doing it with oats...ill give it a shot

Hey troy..isn't Canadian Bacon lean? as in ...low enough in fat to be eaten ....compared to beef or chicken?

haha..i saw 7% ground turkey at sam's club... ;D yeah, thats the stuff that i got (Zacky's)...it's really two packages wrapped together, so its like 4-6 lbs of it i think...and its good...i ate a bunch yesterday
