Just wanted to pick the knowledgable bro's brains about a few supplements that I have interest in. Who here has/is currently taking said product, what are your thoughts, give us some feedback, and be detailed (i.e. what brand, dose, etc.) - Creatine Ethyl Ester
- R-Alpha Lipoic Acid
- BCAA's
- Hydrolyzed Whey Protein
- Nitric Oxide Inducers
These are the supplements that I continue to hear about, I have reserached for myself and am wanting some outside information from those who do/have taken the following products. CEE's: the only brand I have used is CEX and I expected nothing special from it, but that changed within about a week after starting it. The research behind CEE's makes sense, but more importantly it is proving itself in the real world with most. Creatine monohydrate always worked well for me...delivery systems like V-12 or Swole worked better...but CEE's are beyond both of them. R-ALA: Always liked rerular ALA at all significant carb meals, but noticed no difference with R-ALA. BCAA's: I gain better while using them...I have more energy...muscles feel fuller...I recover faster...my appetite is less and I crave less junk. I recommend them to all of my clients. Hydolyzed Whey: Don't know how much of a benefit this would supply over isolate, or even concentrates. I have used all 3 for periods of time and they each do the job equally well in my eyes. NO2 boosters: From the beginning I always said that they're true value may lie in increased nutrient transport and I still believe this. Is this a "foundation" supplement for me? No. But I would add it in when looking to peak.

creatine ethyl ester - no idea. Have not heard of any significant difference. r-ALA (i.e. raceimic): First off, the idea with this stuff is to prevent insulin spikes (or from the other side, variances in blood sugars). Fonz's blood study showed that both were effective at "blocking carbs". However, r-ALA was no more effective on blood sugars at low to medium levels of carb intake than was regular (and much cheaper) ALA. However, r-ALA really did shine at higher carb intake. I, unfortunately, no longer have the study and don't recall the volumes (i.e. what constitutes low, medium and high carb intake). Note: presume "carbs" above means simple carbs or sugars. BCAA's: I've never been a fan but many bodybuilders do swear by them. hydrolyzed: I dont' even bother with "isolate". Whey protein is whey protein. The effectiveness of some of these products is so FRIGGIN' minute that it's funny. NO potentiators: combined with weight training, they help deliver nutrients and increase fascia stretching (IHMO) which does help growth. I don't use them though (I'm often a guinea pig for a friend so I test a lot of supplements on myself, just cause they're free -- haven't found one that's impressed me yet). I may try it at a show yet... it definitely increaed "pump"... T
