I've been trying some supplements off and on and I wondered what everyone thought of them.
Whey Protein:
I've used this since I began working out on a regular basis. I think the longest time I was without it was for...two weeks or so, during a vacation.
CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid):
My trainer (while I had one) recommended this to me, and I used it for about two months, then I couldn't afford anymore. Then two months ago I bought another bottle and I finished it about a week and a half ago. I thought maybe there was a difference, but not much.
Redline Fat Burner:
I just bought this one a week and half ago when the CLA ran out because the clerk at the store I buy my supplements from recommended it. He said to take six a day for two or three weeks and then take a week off. I've never trusted these things, part of the reason I haven't bought one before, but I decided that since it was recommended (and my dad was paying) I might as well try it. Well, I've noticed more definition in the short time I've been taking it, but I'm wondering if anyone else used this stuff and it worked or I'm just fooling myself badly.
Glutamine:
I used this with the CLA and bought some more with the Redline. I've never noticed a marked difference but it's been a long time since I used it and it was also recommended by my trainer, so...
Flaxseed oil (taken orally):
I'm using this to get my monosaturated fats and omega-3 acids. I bought this with the glutamine and Redline and have used it before, but once again with no amount of consistency.
Supplements I'm interested in and would like an opinion on include:
Fish oil:
I heard this stuff lowers cholesterol. True?
Creatine:
The clerk recommended this stuff as well (because he could tell I'm a pushover) but I've heard bad things about creatine, like it only helping you gain water weight or making you dependent on supplements because your body quits making it. True?
Vitamin E:
The so-called "anti-soreness pill" and I tried it and it worked, but then I read a study showing too much vitamin E can be harmful. The pills I used supplied 500% daily recommended dose. Bad?
