Don't get to post much due to my hectic schedule. Just want to throw out my diet for some constuctive advice. I'm in the military and due to my schedule have to rely alot on meal replacements. Gotta get the protein in somehow:-) My stats 42yrs old, 5'9, 236lbs with 12% bf. Thanks in advance.
6 a.m. 1Cup of Oats (dry wt)/ 1 banana / 2 pks Splenda / splash of cinnamon 2 scoops Propeptide protein
9 a.m. 1 Micellean MRP + 1 Scoop Micellean / 2 TBL spoons UDO Oil
12 p.m. 10-12oz Chicken, Turkey breast, or Fish (Talapia) 2 cups brown rice / 1 cup of green beans or broccoli / 1 TBl spoon Olive Oil
3 p.m. Same as 9 a.m. meal
5 p.m. train
6:30 p.m. 2 Scoops VP2 Whey / 1 scoop Glycoload / 10 grams Glutamine / 10 grams creatine
8 p.m. 10-12oz steak or Salmon 1 baked yam / 1 cup green beans or broccoli / 1TBL spoon Olive Oil
11 p.m. 2 Scoops Propeptide

looks solid, even with all the supplements (i'll ignore them!) i know alot of people base their diets off supplements, only thing is they forget about vegies and real food, im glad to see you do your best to get in your vegies and meat!
personally im not a big fan off high-GI sugars post-workout, is there any chance you could maybe have potatoes or rice post-workout? i much prefer to have some nutritious after a workout rather than empty sugars (cheaper and healthier) also fruits are great around your workout to help with liver glycogen status (stablise blood sugar, also the nutrients aid in recovery and growth)
also is there any chance you can work some fruit into your diet? maybe some berries for their anti-oxidant effects, around your workout berries are great to help with free-radical damage

I do take anti-oxidant's with my post workout drink. Vitamins C, E, and A. I guess maybe I could throw in an apple with each one of my protein drinks. I try to eat more solid food on my days off. Unfortunately being in the military I have to rely a bit more than most on the supplements to get in enough protein. The carbs in my postwork out drink I will keep as I can tell a big difference with them after training. That's something I started when I was overseas and I can tell a difference. I make sure to take in a more complex type of carb with my meal following my postwork out drink. Thanks for your response.

My goal is to build a little more muscle and strength. I know a lot of people frawn on the supplements, but at the moment it's the best I can do to ensure I'm getting enough protein. I followed a similar diet when I was stationed overseas and it worked fairly well. When I was in Iraq last year I had to do the same thing. Life of a military man:-)

Hey,considering your in the military,you gotta` do the best you can do. I see no problem with it under the cicumstances......you surely can`t eat as good as if you were at home. Keep pumping,and thanks for your service to this great country !

Thanks Tim and your welcome. Military life can be stressful at times, but after seeing different parts of the world and the way others live, I'm not complaining. It could always be worse. I got a little over 22 years in and just going to ride it for 26. I just want to have a good retirement so I don't have to work hard when I do retire:-)

if you are getting results, there is no cause to change anything btw(off-topic!): i like your "plan" working hard to retire easy, makes me a bit more releaved about having no idea what i wanna do with my life, maybe i will just work, workout, then retire!

Thanks guy's appreciate your input. I'll try to get on a little more often. Seem's like you got a good group of people here. By the way Taffer, I have a little over 3 years left to retire and I don't want to have to work if I don't want to. I could have retired 2 years ago, but I'm a little greedy and want to max-out my retirement. It's a good feeling to I'll still be relatively young and won't have to worry about where my next meal is coming from:-)

i would do the exact same thing, more money for a few extra years work! its just like eating healthy and working out, put in the work and hard effort now for long term rewards just when you retire start eating more chikn 'n milk

Hey hamhock. I have a couple friends in the military (yes, Canada does have a military, LOL). They have similar issues as you with food and deal with it in much the same manner.
I think it looks good. I suspect you may need to up the calories a bit but you have to be the judge of the results you're getting.
My buddy can eat all he wants but has to get in the chow line over and over and he often doesn't have that kind of time, LOL.
Just keep doing what you can. Long-term results will be EXTREMELY satisfying!!

I am a medical resident so I feel your pain regarding not having time to eat. I'm just starting out, but at times I will probably have to resort to more whey shakes than I would like.

I know it's not permanent. You got do the best you can with cards your dealt. I was thinking once I finish up with the meal replacements to just change to a straight protein source and add a couple of baked potatoe's or oatmeal.
