Hi all,
I have only recently (past week) began training/exercises with weights and that sort. Is there beginner supplements/powders to get my body used to the new regime i am going through?... or will they all have the same desires outcome?...
I was thinking of getting Redline tablets, cause im overweight at the moment and heard these are good fat burners while training. Ive also read alot about Whey Protein powder on the site. Any particular brand of the powder that will be good for a beginner or just good in general?
Thanks, Chris

before you jump into supplements, get your diet straight first i know that for a good month or 2 i didnt even have whey protien in my diet, of course whey is good to have, but basic nutrition is FAR more important, making sure you get enough fruit, vegies, whole grains (around your workout especially) essential fats (including omega-3's) and most importantly of all enough calories! too many people starve themselves!
once you got the basics down, get some whey if you want, ON is pretty popular, but i like dymatize because its cheap and tastes awesome!
but yeah, too many people start off new, buy whey, and end up using that for most of their protein intake, which isnt good at all!

Thanks taffer, Yeah i know i should probably do it a bit at a time. From Sunday/Monday im gonna start with the diet, Tim has already advised me on that front. I was just wondering if there was a supplement or powder (not just the ones i mentioned but might not know about others) people use to get started with but if i have to wait, i will, want to do this thing good and proper! Ill read through the pages some more and see when people started taking them and what they got the best results from. Chris

There is nothing wrong with incorporating a quality protein powder into your regimen right now. This is really more part of your "diet" than "supplements." There will be times that eating a food meal is not possible and a good protein powder can make a big difference at these times.

yeah i got no problems with whey powder, fish-oils, multi-vitamins just i dont really like fat-burners, carb blockers, or fancy supplement of the month its just when people start having diets when whey is their main protein source, when they have the oppertunity to have a whole meal (some people are too lazy, others think whey powder has "magical" powers ) usually i just suggest having whey post-workout, and for breakfast (although i like egg whites for breakfast, but you can switch it up as you see fit!) i just hate seeing the supplement diets damn it! with lines like "i dont need vegies because i take a multivitamin!"

Hi again,
Im not really looking for the powder to replace a meal, ive just read all over the board that it is good to take a drink post workout, and to be honest, im not a 'big' eater, the reason im overweight in the first place is because i dont exercise. I used to only have 3 meals a day (big meals) but im changing that now. But for the times i dont feel i can eat much, it would be good to have a protein drink to make up for it.
So can anyone recommend a website i can get good quality powders from? Ive heard ON Whey Protein powder is a very effective one.
Chris

You could try www.trueprotein.comI am a big fan of Meal Replacement Powders if you cannot eat 6 good quality whole food meals per day. MRP's are more than protein, they have fiber, essential fats and vitamins and minerals.
