There are only two gym`s in the one-horsde town I live in ,in upstate NY.They are both on college campuses.I was training at the one located on the campus of S.U.N.Y Canton,which is actually an old natatorium with a track encircling a dark area where the weights are located.
The dumbells only go to 100 pounds which is OK for me except for a few exercises.They have no calf machine,hack machine,or plate loded leg press machine,only a lying leg press made by Cybex.
Therefore I do a lot of squats,which I would do anyway.
Now the gym I re-joined today on the campus of St. Lawrence University, has two rooms full of a ton of weights.They have a zillion benches,power type racks,dumbells that go up to 100 pounds in one room ,and anotyher complete set that goes all the way up to 150 pounds.They have a leg press ,but still no calf machine or hack squats.
The main problem is to train legs you have to use the Smith machine for squats,racks for deadlifts,and can`t use anything over 100 pound DB`s because they only let coaches and teams work out in the room with the heavier DB`s,lifting platforms,and power racks!!
I`m a little pissed after one session, as I got kicked out of the back room already.Some people let me go back there others do not.
I feel like a little freakin` kid!!
I have to talk to someone about this, as improvising is a bit*h when they have what I need but will not let me use it.
It says on the form I filled out,full access to all facilities ......I think not!!!
This town sucks!! ;D
