Have a read of this guys. I've been thinking about buying some glutamine as i have been having cold symptoms recently. Maybe overtraining or swallowing the pool water when having lessons is poisoning me? Unique to Extreme, Glutamine Complex Capsules are a complex amino acid capsule containing free form and peptide bonded glutamine, they also contain another 17 amino acids in peptide bonded chains. The reason they are made this way is to ensure a large proportion of the glutamine makes it to the destination you want, your muscle cells.
Glutamine is paramount in aiding recovery and promoting muscle growth and strength gains, it is also the major amino acid required to construct the stomach lining, this is why normal free form glutamine DOES NOT make it through to your muscles. But it is needed to keep your stomach healthy, that is why we combine both even though producing free form glutamine is much cheaper and easier to produce. We would rather sell you something that works.
As far as we are aware this is the only product of its kind available just now.
What do you reckon? Marketing BS? So there is normal glutamine, this stuff and glutamine ethyl esther. I'd appreciate your views so i don't get sucked in by any BS ;D

Dunno. I use (regular) Glutamine in my post workout shake. Seems to be fine. Havent researched any further on it.

I'd just get some regular glutamine and use it on an empty stomach. 4-5 times per day - 5 grams each dose. Once 1st thing in AM, pre workout, post workout (wait 15 min to have your shake then) and 5 before bed or some other time. I'd also take it with 5 grams BCAA.

Rubicon, yeah I use bodyfx2's co*ktail. it's amazing. usually I use VPX Glutamine, MRM BCAAS +Glutamine & CEX, but I'll be switching form teh VPX brand shortly. The best BCAA prods for the price are Xtend by Scivation and the MRM. The MRM is about the same price as you'd get from trueprotein and it's flavored. Tastes good actually. Have you treid it Rubicon?

I go w/ 5 grams glut, 5 grams bcaa, 2 grams cee it's amazing. right now i'm at 4 co*ktails per day, but when I dieted I was at 5 on off days 6 on and I even dabbled w/ 7! It's awesome!

yeah about 1/2 way between meals, well I take 1 RIGHT b4 my workout then RIGHT after my workotu 20 minutes b4 my carb/protein shake

Lux i have used these Glutamine capsules many times especially when i compete with great effect the whole Extreme range is very good and aimed mainly towards the hard training athlete.

OK, this topic has got me thinking.... As a girl who works out 6 days a week I have supplemented with glutamine for several years and I always took 5grams in the morning after my cardio session and then another 5 at night after my weight workout. After reading the posts on here it looks like I am not taking enough. Or would that be for a guy who is probably double my weight?

I would say that what you are doing is fine. I only take 5-10 grams post workout and I weigh 210, so...

I take 10 grams 2 x a day............was gonna` increase it but I think this is working for me.
I may experiment with more when I diet for a show if I feel the need.
Bodyfx,and or Layne, could tell us volumes more here.
